Thanks for posting the team, Mildly. Will be interesting to see what Hugo Keenan brings to the game, I've seen very little of him since U20s days.mildlyinterested wrote:Leinster Rugby

Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
Of the players who haven't featured in pre-season games I'm guessing that Ross Byrne and Fergus McFadden are the only ones from the senior squad likely to be added to those who have played for the opening match against Cardiff.

Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
this is the last preseason game.. so they won't have played before opening game.cormac wrote:Of the players who haven't featured in pre-season games I'm guessing that Ross Byrne and Fergus McFadden are the only ones from the senior squad likely to be added to those who have played for the opening match against Cardiff.
Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
Yeah, I know. I'm saying that the squad for the first game of the season will be based on players who've featured in these two games plus Byrne and McFadden. The rest of the senior squad to be filtered back in before the end of September, depending on injuries.mildlyinterested wrote:this is the last preseason game.. so they won't have played before opening game.cormac wrote:Of the players who haven't featured in pre-season games I'm guessing that Ross Byrne and Fergus McFadden are the only ones from the senior squad likely to be added to those who have played for the opening match against Cardiff.

hopefully RB is.
Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
Leinster have said that McFadjin will be there for Cardiff. Not sure you can take their injury reports as gospel though
Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
Reported earlier in the week that McFadden is back in full-time training this week and he expects him to be available for the first game.

Outside of the back row, Fergus McFadden is nearing a comeback after a slower-than-expected recovery from the leg injury he picked up while scoring a try in the Champions Cup semi-final win over Scarlets. The veteran wing won’t face Newcastle in Donnybrook this Friday evening but should train in full this week with a view to being fit for Pro14 opening night away in Cardiff.

Yup, don't believe it until you see it. At least it's not as bad as MOC though when players were named to start, that everyone knew wasn''t fit.johng wrote:Leinster have said that McFadjin will be there for Cardiff. Not sure you can take their injury reports as gospel though
Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
Can't wait to see who we play 15 in the first game now. Looks like a choice between Lowe, Daly or DK.
I'd love to see Lowe get a crack there on a pitch like Cardiff!

Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
He's a sweet passer of the ball anyway, going on his 7s performances. One criticism I've had of Dave Kearney is that he doesn't really multiply the effectiveness of any breaks he makes by finding a support player with a pass. Keenan seems to have the vision and skills to be better in this regardhugonaut wrote:Thanks for posting the team, Mildly. Re: Pre-Season 2018/19
42 17 to Newcastle. That was pretty awful. It was hard to pick out any good performances. Luke McGrath looked sharp when he came on. Mick Kearney wasn’t great for the time he was on. Defense all around was dreadful.
