Why no game outside of Dublin? That's disappointing.

Maybe they'll add another game yet!

Is it not tradition that we let Ulster beat us in Pre-season to get their confidence up for the season ahead? :D

I think is was part of the 'Good Friday' agreement!

They've also got John Cooney; Tommy O'Hagan; Alan O'Connor and Dave Shanahan - next season's interpros are going to be good!

The Newcastle game is interesting to me - is this our first meeting with Richards since blood gate?

I've been trying to figure out why we'd play Montauban, is there any chance they've paid big bucks to play the European champions? Or does that only happen in football?

We started last season with a visit to a Pro D2 side in France.

They had an excellent season and only slipped out of automatic promotion place in last month of the Season. Very well coached but no big names. A good choice IMO.

We'll be missing around 12 to 15 players like the start of every season, so we'll have a skeleton senior team and plenty of academy players involved. This game you can throw the young lads in, experiment a bit. Blow off the cobwebs. French teams are usually ahead in preseason prep as their season starts earlier, so we are likely to face a full strength Montauban v's an academy heavy 1st blow out Leinster. Makes good sense to me and good prep for Newcastle who came 4th in AP.
