Was any reason given as to why the open training day in Carlow was cancelled?
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

Is Doris still on a break post RWC?

Also, no Frawley? Who steps in at first receiver if Reid goes down? Mullin?
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Strong side. Noel Reid at 10 a curve ball. Wonder what's wrong with Frawley. Leinster Rugby trolling Gorey Guy after his thread on Leinster's backlines?

Jimmy O'Brien is an ex-10, who has played 10 for the A's at some point, so presumably him. Didn't have much of a break post 7's.

Conor O'Brien also an ex-10, but years since he played there.

Doris is back but not available for selection yet due to JWC.

James Lowe in ahead of Dave Kearney at 15 could be the turning of a page. Montauban are no mugs and are really up for this game and have been planning carefully for it. Smart Coaches and really good Pro D2 Squad who should have gone up last Season. Hard to score tries against

Even if he had a stormer, it's a preseason friendly against a Pro D2 side.

Maybe Munster could loan us one of their 5 outhalves to tide us by until we actually have an outhalf fit and available?

I saw a good bit of Conor at 10. He's not a pro 10 as far as I could see.

I expected a far more experimental side than that but really like the look of it. Obviously there are question marks over Noel but any kind of half decent performance would be a massive bonus to put him in the frame for being 4th choice. Not much to lose although I also wanted Frawley to get as much game time as possible in pre season, can't have everything I suppose.

I hadn't noticed that Rhys is at 7. All summer I was thinking that you could pencil him in at 6 for the first few games of the season (even with the competition there) because he's barely played in the last year and is just so good and reliable there, interesting that he's moved across considering our options. I'd hoped SOB would be back for the start of the season but even in that best case scenario you'd obviously expect him to not be around much anyway. Still a fan of Connors but prepping a seasoned vet like Rhys to solve a potential problem seems like a really good idea. It could help his Ireland prospects too. If it doesn't work out then we'll have other options, but worth a shot anyway.
