Definitely.. was unlucky last season with knee injuries otherwise he could have easily earned an academy offer.LeinsterLeader wrote:Would he be worth a punt ala Barry Daly?mildlyinterested wrote:Former Leinster Sub-Academy and Ireland U20 wing Peter Sullivan scored 15 tries this season breaking Matt Healys AIL try record of 14. Re: Academy 2018/2019
I watched all 3 games. Some quality players and some who need a bit more development.
The first 2 matches were hard to judge because of size difference. They blew it against Scotland. The Scots didn't have to do much to score. Defence was poor but the results don't matter that much at U18 level.
Best players were Boyle, Stewart, Soroka, Kendallen, Martin, O'Riordan, Cosgrove. I thought the replacement half backs improved things today.
Cosgrove probably the player of the 3 matches for us. He's a quality player though he needs to work on his defence.
The U19s had 2 good matches against France. Bodes well for next year. That french side has been beating teams well this season.

encouraged by all I seen of the leinster players, Boyle, Soroka and Cosgrave probably being the three standouts.
Of course Boyle still only being 16 should be noted.

Fair, only 3 that I know of. Some of the 4th years away on TY trips at the moment so rules out a few, Boyle with Ireland so he's obviously unavailable and could be a couple of injuries toomildlyinterested wrote:Only 3 from Michaels is surprisingly little.Purist98 wrote:Zach Harrison, Conor Booth and Fintan Gunne from Michael's involved as wellmildlyinterested wrote:Leinster u18 schools had a trial game on friday against Munster, they won 36-6.

Re: Academy 2018/2019
listening to a podcast with Dave Fagan, interesting that no players skips a year training in the sub-academy in Donnybrook even those players who join academy straight from school..
3 pitch sessions a week for sub-academy players.
