Hold on there a second - the Belvo production line has recently kicked in again - see Hugh O'Sullivan and David Hawkshaw.
two academy players given recent cup successes isn't great, but it's an improvement..

hopefully they can push on producing more academy players alongside continued success in the cup.
McKinley and O'Malley would arguably be in the Leinster XXIII now with better luck.
Pretty sure that McKinley went to St. Columba's College, not Belvedere.

Not this season, has been playing 1 for Leinster. Might be his first appearance of the season at 3.

15. M.O'Reilly (Gerards) 14. Hugh Towmey 13. Luis?? 12. ??? 11. Ronan Quinn (Glenstall) 10. ??? 9. Louis O'Reilly (Rock) 8. Mathew Martin (CWC) 7. Adam Corcoran (Castleknock) 6. Anthony Ryan (CWC) 5. James Murphy (Belvedere) 4. Rory Clarke Captain (Glenstall 17). 3. Simon Clear(I think) (Gonzaga) 2??? Gusippe Coyne (Rock 17).

UCD included 3.Milne(Roscrea) 5.Prendergast(Newbridge) 8.Cian Reilly(Rock 17) 10.James Tarrant (Rock) 14.Alex O'Grady(Belvedere) 12.David Moran(Michaels) 13.David Ryan(Michaels) 14.Harry Donnelly(Rock).

Prendergast was UCDs standout player Their 2 looked good as well. Neatly taken try by Cian Reilly to spot no one guarding the back of a Trinity ruck. But they were all at sea in the scrum and in midfield.
Trinitys backrow is a real strength. Centres have a mixture of power pace and good line of runnings. And no 11 Ronan Quinn is very very quick. But the stand out player of the day was Coyne. Not just for his destructive scrummaging but also for his carrying in the loose. Always getting his hands free in contact and looking to off load.
Trinity were dominant for the 1st 25 mins going 17 - 0 up. They lost a man to the bin for early pushing on a lineout jumper (definitely a penalty but harsh for a yellow). UCD played their best rugby in this period and got 2 tries to bring it back to 17-14. In the 2nd half Trinity stretched to 20 - 14 before the UCD 14 slapped down a pass as he was looking to make a tackle. Instinctive rather than deliberate but he got a yellow. Trinity scored to move it out to 25 - 14. It followed a short time later with a high tackle (again reaction rather than deliberate) leading to a yellow for no 5. Trinity scored 2 more tries to win 41 - 17. On re reading the above it sounds like the result was determined by the yellow cards, but it wasn't. Trinity forwards had the upper hand (except in lineout) and it was a matter of time before they exploited that.

Though UCD can't be written off and I havn't seen Lansdowne play it does sound like Clontarf & Trinity are the front runners. I think they meet either next week or the week after.
