Dunne's u-20 profile from last year said 202cm (6'7.5") and 112kg (17 st 9 lb). Already passed the minimum size requirement, but for a guy of his height who's not the most powerful or athletic he'd probably be better off at 115kg+.

Which I found surprising.

You could tell he was still maturing into his frame athletically last season, which is hardly surprising considering he was young for his age group, only turning 20 at the end of November.

I'd still have said he was fairly athletic for his size/weight and as he continues to mature he will inevitably get more powerful and athletically co-coordinated.

There may be the opportunity to judge physique and ability at first hand on Friday against Scarlets. Some of the Academy lads after training with the Senior Squad think he might bench on Friday.

I hadn't realised Marcus Smith was still eligible.

Premiership is mothballed till the middle of Feb & he's not in the senior squad even after the Farrell operation.

Do you think anything can be done to establish rugby as big sport in these schools?

I dunno about Naas, but I expect it's as big as it's going to get in Gorey due to strong competition from GAA and soccer, which have bigger importance in the town and general area. Gorey CS have a particularly strong team this year due to the work being done in the club and having a particularly strong age group that are coming through the club.

There will be one in the academy next year anyway, probably a season or two away from someone getting capped for senior team.
