What do you make of his reported 105kg weight, also misreported? Seems very hefty for his true height - same weight as Sean Cronin for instancemildlyinterested wrote:Interview with Turner

He is being listed at 6ft, which he is not, more accurate height is 5'8 to 5'9.

No chance, he was originally listed at 5'8, 89kg before they updated his stats, which I posted in this thread a few weeks back. His original stats make more sense to me.ChrisUppy wrote:What do you make of his reported 105kg weight, also misreported? I'd be shocked if he could carry that much while being as quick as he is.mildlyinterested wrote:No chance, he was originally listed at 5'8, 89kg before they updated his stats, which I posted in this thread a few weeks back. But having had a decent look at him in Musgrave the other week, I'd fully believe him to be in around 95-96
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Possibly a bit of manipulation by the management?mildlyinterested wrote:Yeah no way is he 105kg.. they are taking the piss with that stat inflation
Generous up the stats a bit so the other nations don't get as many notions of flooding his channel with big runners?

more than likely, if they knew our centre pairing were both 5'9, well they'd make a plan to test that I thinkarsebiscuits1 wrote:Possibly a bit of manipulation by the management?mildlyinterested wrote:Yeah no way is he 105kg.. they are taking the piss with that stat inflation

https://www.the42.ie/kernohan-baird-cas ... 1-Feb2019/The ireland u20s have been boosted by the returns of wing Angus Kernohan, scrum-half Craig Casey and second row Ryan Baird ahead of Friday’s Six Nations clash with Italy.
“Ryan is going to give us something that is going to be physical,” said Ireland U20s assistant coach Ambrose Conboy. “His athletic qualities are something that are wished for by most players.

I believe he was breaking tackles for fun last week in the AIL clash with UCC.mildlyinterested wrote:https://www.the42.ie/kernohan-baird-cas ... 1-Feb2019/The ireland u20s have been boosted by the returns of wing Angus Kernohan, scrum-half Craig Casey and second row Ryan Baird ahead of Friday’s Six Nations clash with Italy.

Re: Academy 2018/2019
spotted tommy o'brien in recent leinster rugby video doing water boy at training, didn't appear to have any obvious injury or knee strapping on so hopefully injury isn't season ending.
also Dan Sheehan training with academy and senior squad, dispelling recent rumour he has been released by academy.

Don't care, he's tall enough.wixfjord wrote:Is Scott Penny actually 6ft I wonder?
Re: Academy 2018/2019
I'm less thinking about his height than about how much more bulk he can pack onto that frame.
He might be big enough to play in the Pro14, but he's a bit undersized for Heino or test level at the moment.
Most 7s that are under 6 ft are physical freaks.
Still at 19 hopefully he has some growing left to do!
One thing is for sure though, he's definitely a different 7 to what we've had for a while. Serious acceleration on him!

Re: Academy 2018/2019
I think he's plenty big enough, the way he can pick and go close to the line is unbelievably good. In the A games you'd have sworn that he was an experienced international coming back from injury and the defenders he powered over were the ones just out of school. I can't imagine someone like Hooper being able to do that.
