Connacht Away Sept 29th 5.15
Hopefully a better performance than last time we went to Galway.

It should be a stern test and another step up from the last two games.mildlyinterested wrote:Hopefully a better performance than last time we went to Galway.
We're in good shape for this point in the season and a favourable result sets us up nicely for Wasps.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

Last quote I saw about Jack McGrath said he was hoping to make the Munster game.arsebiscuits1 wrote:How long is Jack McGrath out for? Can we hope for a bench appearance this week?

SOB back training fully.
James Ryan and Dan Leavy will follow return-to-play protocols from concussions issues against Edinburgh.
Scrum-half Nick McCarthy is also in the mix from a wrist injury and Ciaran Frawley is back from small fracture to his forearm.

Would be good to get either McCarthy or Frawley onto the bench for this one.
Likely they won't be seeing much senior time until after the Heino cup games, and we'll need them during the Autumn.

Re: Connacht Away Sept 29th 5.15
doesn't look like Ruddock, Deegan or Reid trained.
Re: Connacht Away Sept 29th 5.15
Interesting to see Jonny Cooper at training.
Obviously looking to perfect his already aggressive tackling!

Have a couple of tickets to this if anyone is interested. Main Terrace standing for face value. Although I see they've added 2000 seats so tickets are still available

Re: Connacht Away Sept 29th 5.15
He's reffed this fixture five times previously, two of which were in Galway.
1 Jan 2012 Connacht 13 Leinster 15 (Isa kicked five penalties)
19 Sep 2014 Connacht 10 Leinster 9 (Madser kicked three penalties)
Hopefully we'll manage a few tries this time

I like the inter-sport relationship that exists between the IRFU and GAA. Refreshing to see and potentially a great resource for us in the future.
In terms of this game, I still a bit traumatized from last time, but I expect more strong teams named and I think as long as we don't have major personnel changes, we're in a good groove and should get the job done.
Connacht are coming off an incredible performance though, so I'd take a scuttery 6-5 win in the wind and rain no problem.
In terms of the strong squads being named unusually early this season, does anybody know if that is the sign of maybe giving the league more credibility by resting players less, does that mean that schminutes allowed are extended? or is it something to do with world cup year and players will be rested towards the end of season or something?

The article above in The42 who interviewed Jason Cowman gives no indication of any extension of playing minutes. However, the underlying logic for maintaining this regime is compelling. Good article.

Re: Connacht Away Sept 29th 5.15
I wonder does the lack of a summer tour "help" with more mins in the Pro 14? Obviously that is counter balanced by having to go to pre season considerably for the RWC .COYBIB wrote: In terms of the strong squads being named unusually early this season, does anybody know if that is the sign of maybe giving the league more credibility by resting players less, does that mean that schminutes allowed are extended? or is it something to do with world cup year and players will be rested towards the end of season or something?
Never argue with an idiot. Someone looking on may not be able tell the difference
