It was mentioned in the build-up to the Munster game.

Scott Penny has undergone two separate operations in a bid to clear up longstanding shoulder issues ahead of his first full season in the Leinster senior ranks.

Penny, promoted to a senior contract after just one season in the academy, will spend the summer rehabbing and Leinster hope the openside will be fit to return in time for the start of pre-season.

I wonder is double shoulder surgery 2 surgeries on the same shoulder or one on each?

I am sure they had their reasonings but I can't help but feel this surgery would have been much more beneficial 6 weeks ago - especially as it is fixing long standing issues.

It's possible they were just giving him every chance to prove fitness ahead of the JRWC
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Or maybe he was on standby for Leinster with our injury issues.

He was already in a sling at the Munster game [the semi-final].

For no reason in particular I was just thinking about how there has been no mention of us signing anyone, either by the press or from fans. We signed Tomane last year and Lowe and Fardy came in the season before that. Unless I'm missing some obvious player(s) (although the number will still be very low if I am), that's three signings in three seasons and we'll have won two Pro14s and a Champions Cup (and been to another final) in the first two of those three seasons. And that's at a time when we've lost/are losing Jack McGrath, Mike Ross, Mick Kearney, Nagle, Mike McCarthy, Jordi, SOB, Heaslip, Dippy, Nick McCarthy, Joey, Marsh, Noel, Kirchner, and Isa. Plus we've had long term injuries and yet we've still only made those few signings.

It just made me realise the incredible job that everyone has done to get the squad in the great shape that it is. I doubt any club in Europe compares favourably with our turnover of players and it must be demoralising to have to spend a heap of money (I'm thinking of London Irish in particular when I say this) and still end up with a very average squad.

Is Kelleher the only new signing for next season (not including academy grads)?

Tomane was our only signing last season IIRC.

Curious to see what happens with Salanoa. I believe he's still around the setup but haven't really heard anything else about him in a while.

+1
The lack of detail on International appearances, Lions appearances, HCC (HEC etc) etc is appalling.
Johng needs to up his game.
Mildly too, although his list of names is mostly of the household variety barring one or two.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.
