Would have preferred to see Daly at 15 over DK.

Personally, I don't see much scope for ROL to go any higher at 13. He'd be relying on Ringrose to get injured to play the big matches there, and I think his tackling is a bit iffy in the outside centre channel anyway. I think he's a special talent though, and if the coaches want to see him really kick on, I think they need to select him more at 11 or 12.

Some cheetahs related news is that the Currie Cup is starting earlier next season, so the Cheetahs won't have to play in both competitions simultaneously. The Cheetahs can therefore reduce their overall squad size and spend the money on higher quality players.

Slightly disappointing with no Lowe and DK starting at 15, but that's a serious looking feckin side for an international window!

Porter is a strange one, why not start him?

Hopefully it's a call from Ireland. Get him 30 minutes to dust off cobwebs ahead of being picked for the France game! 8)

Match Preview

For the second week in a row, it's Fright Night Lights at the RDS versus South African opposition.

To their credit the Kings did make something of a game of it for twenty minutes or so. They shocked Leinster by taking a 12-7 lead but the score thereafter was 52-7 to the home team so they were never really in any trouble. The Cheetahs should offer a little more competition but probably not much more.

Would be good to see a few supporters wearing whatever old Fiji Samoa Tonga jerseys you might have, to show a bit of rugby solidarity against this world league with no chance of the islanders joining

With the talk of Pro14 possibly turning to Pro16 with 2 extra South Africa teams, rugby powers are just taking the piss this week

I feel like I'm uttering heresy on this site but... I don't think Bent is up to it any more. Not even third choice considering the first two are away for much of the season.

That pass from Rory O'Loughlin for Adam Byrne's try was a beauty.

Ironically its a skill that holds him back.

I suppose that's the kind of game you can expect on a wet Friday night with not much to play for.

If not a dead rubber it was a rapidly expiring rubber with a DNR sign around its neck...NEXT!!!

In the scrum, the problem isn't Bent, it's Byrne. The difference when Treacy came on was very evident. Byrne just didn't have the strength / power to handle that Cheetahs front-row.

Overall a poor performance against a team that looked more powerful than us all over the park. If they had not kicked so much ball away and had showed the ambition like the last 20 minutes, they could have won that game.

Ross Byrne didn't control the game in any meaningful way, but Nigel Owens must take a lot of blame as he ignored offside all night and applied his own version of the Laws from time to time. We weren't good but we largely kept the Laws.

Nothing to worry about, but nothing to celebrate even if we have a home semi-final.

What are ye talking about? A home semi is always something to celebrate. Probably pay Jlo's and Fardy's wages with the income from that game alone, almost. And a good chance to play either Glasgow or Red Leinster in Celtic Park.
Spoilt you is.

Watching the highlights (not many) on TG4. Nche should have had a red card without a doubt. He’ll be cited.
