3 games left in the season, but still... my main contenders:

Jack Conan, 12 starts, 2 tries.

Garry Ringrose, 12 starts, 3 tries.

James Lowe, 14 starts, 10 tries, 1 red card.

Sean Cronin, 14 starts, 4 sub appearances, 12 tries.

That's a tough call.
Feel an attack of obfuscation coming on!
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

Ross Byrne deserves a mention imo.

Maybe he’s most improved rather than the very best player this season, but he’s guided us through the Munster game at home, multiple European Cup group games and the quarter final. He’s stepped up his running game no end and his kicking stats are massively improved.

Been very impressed with him, wasn’t nervous for any of the games he started.

James Ryan for me. The guy is unbelievable. Should be the next captain for both Leinster and Ireland.

Ringrose, Lowe, Cronin, Healy and Conan would all deserve it as well though.

I can't bring myself to choose any one player over another which is is an indication of the quality throughout this squad.

However I have a feeling James Lowe may turn out to be the most naturally talented player we have when he is free from the 3 into 2 farce.

We are lucky to have this team.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

Ryan by a hair from Cronin for me.

He has been absolutely immense in our biggest games.

I'd agree JGP deserves a shout too.

Jamison Gibson Park. Hasn't had a bad game all season. Scored a few tries and set up a load more. Decision making has been spot on e.g tap and go then superb pass out to Adam Byrne for try v Toulouse. Never seems to miss a beat and deserves a place in the 23 for final but will miss out due to the neccessity of having fardy and Lowe in the 15.

Since his arrival as a senior player, at both Province and international level, James Ryan has established standards of his play which compare with or surpass the top players in his, highly competitive, position in the world.

Sites comparable to this, in countries such as Australia, NZ, SA and France regularly list him alongside Itoje and Grey as the top-rated European second-rows and include Retallick, Etzebete and de Jager. as the top Southern Hemisphere contenders. IMO Ryan, Healy and Furlong are the only Irish forwards likely to be ranked in the top 5 in their positions, based on their 2018-9 season performances.

James Ryan has been so consistenly good for Leinster that it is easy to overlook him and focus on others whose contributions have been higher profile, but less consistent.

Does no one consider that Scott Fardy deserves a mention? He has been immense for us again this season. His performance on Sunday gave the lie to his original selection on the bench, and that's no disrespect to Rhys, who has also had a good season. Fardy is proving to be one of my all time favourite NIQ signings. Nowhere near Isa in fairness but he'll never have the longevity that Isa enjoyed with us. I know there is a separate thread for SF appreciation but doesn't he at least deserve consideration in any list of players of this season?
