Pro14 R3: Leinster v Edinburgh Fri 11th Oct KO 19:35

Post by cormac »

We've clearly committed some heinous crimes in a past life as Ben Whitehouse is the ref for this game on Friday.

Assume there'll be some rotation in the 23 and that Edinburgh will be a far tougher test than Ospreys.
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

Patterson being ahead of O’Sullivan won’t happen unfortunately. It’s clear as day that the coaches prefer Hughie

has been the case upto now for sure.. both need to be playing a lot of rugby.. figure they may be rotating backup 9's and with Hughie and Osborne already getting an opportunity, that Paddy P may too.

Ross. Need to get maximum points and while Harry is a talent, this isn't the game for his 1st start.

No insult to your team but based on Leo's selection policy in the last year or so I expect at least 5/6 players rotated in/out of 15/23.

No COB again, very disappointing.

Cian Kelleher absent again also.

Good to see Penny return tho and Kelleher continue at hooker.

Wow some really interesting patterns emerging over these three games.

Ronan Kelleher clearly now ahead in the battle for hooker.
Doris and Tomane cementing places at 8 and 12.
Keenan seemingly ahead of JOB for the 15 spot.
Osborne taking a leap in the scrumhalf race.

Surprised we haven't seen A Byrne or COB again.

I also feel a bit sorry for Ross Molony who has been playing really well and yet is behind two guys who in another dimension would be playing RWC this weekend.

Interested to see how Penny does in his seasonal bow!

Didn't realise they'd signed another Fijian backrower.

Backs look good but our pack should have more than enough for theirs on paper.

Toner and Bent both have more caps than Edinburgh’s entire pack, you’d have to feel we’ll boss them up front. Feeling very confident for this game.

Great for Kelleher to get another start at hooker. Amazing to think he only had 80 minutes and two caps total coming into this season. Looking like he might live up to the hype; we sorely need an upgrade on Tracey and B. Byrne imo.

(Also dropped a post with a free ticket going in the tickets forum)

Cian Kelleher was water boy last week. Strange that he hasn't had a look in yet.

I'm interested to see what the Celtic Cup team is now, surely Kelleher and COB won't be picked for that? We've gone strong in it before though and maybe we decided that anyone who hasn't started the first two league games can be involved.

Great to see Kelleher start again. I'd usually prefer young players to be used sparingly but he could probably do with the game time and it's not like hookers get flogged too often. I feel for Byrne, he was good last season but realistically we need to upgrade in that position and Kelleher fits the bill.

Thought Adam played really well in the first game so not sure why he's missed out again. He did go off early but I didn't hear anything about an injury.

It's been some rise for Osbourne, fair play to him.

not surprising that someone who has played scrumhalf his whole life(Osborne) and multiple seasons in the AIL is better at playing scrumhalf than two young scrumhalves with limited experience at AIL level.

O'Sullivan and Patterson should be playing AIL as much as possible this season, not sitting on the sidelines watching.

Young scrumhalves need to be playing games to develop their decision making.

Plus one on this. Always thought Keenan would be a future 15 for us (although Kelly and JOB made me think twice).
Hard to see why Kelleher was brought back to be a water boy. It will p1$$ off all those involved.

What’s the story with Rowan Osbourne? Is he here on a short term contract during the World Cup or what? It seems as if the coaches don’t trust Hughie And Patterson and they’d rather bring in Ail player...I’d be pretty miffed if I was the other academy scrum halves, I’ve nothing against Osborne I’m just saying

I know he's played 7s but I was surprised to see how quick Keenan was when he chased the kick down the middle last week, really didn't think he had that kind of pace.
