As opposed to Weasle-y College's contribution to Leinster rugby - er, Eric Miller and he's retiring on us!

Speaking of obscurity, it's great to see John Lyne in there.

Leinster 'A' made a terrific comeback but ultimately succumbed to a 34-21 defeat to their Munster counterparts at Roscrea RFC on Thursday after coming back from a 17-point deficit.

Speaking after the game Leinster assistant coach Emmet Farrell commented: "It was another worthwhile exercise for the squad and I was pleased with how the AIL players stood up to the challenge and how the team fought back in the second half.

"We missed a couple of chances in the first half. Had we punished them we would have gained momentum. We ran out of steam - when we went 21-17 ahead - and lost concentration which allowed Munster to score three soft tries at the end."

Leinster began sluggishly and fell behind to an early seven point deficit when dimuitive out-half Barry Keeshan darted home from five metres out. He added the conversion on the half hour but failed in a subsequent attempt 11 minutes later after a Mark Melbourne try after good pressure from the hosts.

Trailing 12-0 at the interval, the Blues were dealt a blow when impressive centre Greg Stafford was forced to withdraw with a knee injury. Then in the 46th minute replacement James Coughlan crashed over again to give Leinster a mountain to climb.

But Leinster struck back with three unanswered scores from Stephen Grissing (51) - which was converted by skipper Brian O'Meara - and then David Blaney (56) and the industrious John Lyne (62) after excellent work from Brendan Burke. O'Meara added to his tally while David McAllister also chipped in with a conversion from Lyne's effort.

There were impressive displays in the Leinster pack - most notably through Ciaran Potts and Alex Dunlop while Marc Warburton was a constant menace.

But Munster upped the tempo as the game entered the final quarter and tore away through tries from James Coughlan (66) - converted by Mossy Lawlor, Brian Tuohy (70) and Anthon Pitout (76) to give Munster a 13-point victory.

Munster Scorers: J. Coughlan (2 tries), B. Keeshan (1 try, 1 conversion), M. Melbourne / A. Pitout / B. Tuohy (1 try each), M. Lawlor (1 conversion)

Leinster Scorers: S. Grissing / D. Blaney / J. Lyne (1 try each), B. O'Meara (2 conversions), D. McAllister (1 conversion)
