it has nothing to with leo, he does not get consulted. No rugby player would rat on another , honour amongst thieves, although i did post it on the wrong board

So mentioning an incident regarding a munster player and lion who will most likely receive a 12 week ban is being ungracious in victory? Get real

Would love to see jenno get it. Would hater to see a welshman get it as it would bring them ahead of us in terms of players travelling

Is Quinland banned yet? no. have the Lions said they aren't taking him? No. there's no reason to be discussing a replacement so.

This is a really difficult one. I was delighted that Quinny was selected for the lions, however from what i saw it looked really bad. There is no place in the game for that behaviour and unfortunately its going to be a black day for him as he must be banned is found guilty - if he is found guilty without a significant ban then I would argue that it would be a blacker day for rugby. This is nothing about been a gracious winner or loser - I simply wished the incident hadnt happened - but we must bring the full burden of the law down on such things should people be found guilty. The only hope is that the camera angles will show he was not looking at where he was putting his hands - but I suspect by his own reactions that he knew he was in the wrong.

Jeno would do some serious damage in the ruck area!! most of that turn over ball we got on Saturday was all his and Cullen's work!!! either one could go...

But knowing Ian, id say he'll pick someone that can play both in back row and lock positions...

I also think Darcy should go!!

-playing on history, hes going to get a long ban, no question!! the one thing that's not tolerated in rugby, is eye gouging... 18 week ban!!

`there is no doubt he will be banned. Corry got 6 weeks for a minor incident, best 18 weeks, hartly 24 weeks for more serious ones. The ERC has rightly made a stance against this. It is so easy to damage someones sight, intentional or not he deserves a ban, which it will cost him 40k wages a possible 60k bonus and maybe his family have booked flights, the respect of his peers, and the honour of being a Lion

Croft is a fine player,he may be overhyped by the English but he is underrated by others. He would be my choice.

Of course there is, considering he has been cited and how contact with the eyes is treated by the officials. Messageboards are for discussion.

Call me crazy but should Quinlan be replaced with an outhalf? 6 backrows should be enough, and ROG wasn't good at all on Saturday. The Lions can't afford to have one of their 2 OHs in that form.

I agree with you but the fact that Quinlan can be directly replaced by perhaps the unluckiest player not to be picked in Croft means that i doubt it'll happen but if it was one of the number 8s or opensides then it'd be more of a possibility. His lineout ability will also have to be replaced imo because none of the other back rows are particularly good in that area.

Don't see a problem with discussing it, understanding that he might not get excluded from the tour.

Quinlan was the 7th back row, the non specialist. There are plenty of choices for a replacement, Croft seems to be the leader at the moment but Ryan Jones was also a controversial non selection. Scotland can consider themselves unlucky not to have a Scottish backrow and Jason White or Strokosch are big hitters who might get the call.

Leamy was close to selection but I have my doubts he'll get picked at this point. Neil Best is another outside hope.

I was championing Leamy, but himself and Stringer played themselves out of contention on Saturday. If Quinlan misses out, it probably should be Croft though this Sky campaign has really p*ssed me off. Neil Best would be perfect down there but Ferris and Worsley (who shouldn’t be on the squad) have that box ticked, Croft would add a different dimension and would be preferable to Ryan Jones imo. Jennings would relish the breakdown battles down there but might be a little caught for pace on the hard pitches, high altitude etc.

It hasn’t been a great couple of weeks for the Lions, what with O’Connell and the Munster lads looking very ordinary and also a lot of the Cardiff contingent not hitting the heights. The Croft thing has been the worst though. It’ll be mentioned in every article on the Lions until they cave and bring him along somehow.

How is discussing Quinlan's possible replacement out of order.

The liklihood is that he will banned. Was listen to Neil Francis and for once agreed with him. He said that if you look at the neil best incident, it was worse than it (best's).

Still feel sorry for him but rules are rules

Croft, or Strokosh at an outside bet

Sky have been shamelessly pushing Croft for selection. No guarantee he would get in though. Ryan Jones has a good chance and Leamy, White and Strokosch (is that how you spell his name!) have an outside chance.

are you for real? there is nothing wrong with discussing a replacement. this has nothing to do with being gracious. the guy is a cheat and deserves whatever he gets.

i think croft should get it, he deserves it. the fact that he can also play at second row despite only being 6'6 is an added bonus also
