The power of 4

Post by Shane »

Ok, i know its a bit after the fact, but does anyone know what happened to the lions anthem that we had in New Zealand in 2005 - 'the power of four'? I dont think it was a successful experiment to give lions teams an anthem, and they must have ditched it.

From the early '70s the Lions unofficial anthem was 'Flower of Scotland', I think Willie John McBride wanted to introduce an anthem for the '74 Lions Tour to S.A. and he chose Flower of Scotland. I don’t think the song is very old, only written in the '60s but it is wonderful to hear it being sung in Murryfield.
