Alternatives to Llandaff RFC

Postby philguth » May 4th, 2011, 4:31 pm

Right so seeing as Llandaff is booked out I have been looking into alternative places to camp.

Amz has made contact with Llandaff North RFC so we will see what comes of that.

Cardiff Caravan Park may be an option. It's actually located closer to the stadium so it might be a better option. I wonder if they will do anything for a block booking?

Another option is Lavernock Point Holiday Estate but that is a bit of a hike away from Cardiff.

Any opinions?

Haven't heard back from Llandaff North as yet, but we're seriously considering Lavernockpoint. Seems like a good option.

FYI the Cardiff City Council campsite told me they were booked out on Monday.

Has anyone been able to get through to these guys?
I just get a voicemail asking me to enter a security code.

Just got this reply from Llandaff North RFC, doesn't really seem to be a runner.

Hi annemarie,

sorry for not getting back to you sooner, the reason being we have a large function at our clubhouse during that weekend of the 21st May, 2011.

We have not a problem with you useing the carpark adjacent to our clubhouse, though we must stress it is council owned and is managed by the council, parking at the carpark for long periods and overnight would be entirely at your own risk.

We would ofcourse open our ammenities for your use on the understanding that you use our club bar facillities.....

Kind regards

I got through to them there, all you need to do is show up with your ticket to the match and they will put you up for the night (thats assuming you'll be tenting it).

It's ten pounds per person, per night.

Thats a shame, although Penarth is looking like a reasonable alternative.

Thats grand so. I'll be arriving at approx 3 to 4 am so looking forward to seeing them.
Need to go get a tent now.

Last I checked Lidl have some going cheap.

The chap on the phone said that if you arrive in the early hours, you can pitch your tent and then drop up to the office when it gets light.
