Not the greatest kickoff times imo. London games will be preferable as there'll be plenty of friends couches to sleep on! Not sure I fancy paying £50 for a nosebleed behind the posts against Europe 2 though!!!

Very Pricey...

So the Cheapest ticket to France V Europe 2 is £20 and the cheapest Ireland V Europe 2 is £50?!

Taking advantage of the Irish support me thinks...

Ticket prices are a bit of a joke. I would have thought the Ireland Canada game would have been a perfect cheap weekend before going to Ireland France

Dont see that happening now. Better bring about 10 kids with me to make it worthwhile

Best start saving now. No idea how they think they will fill these stadia at those prices.

Well we couldn't fill our own stadium with €100 a ticket prices at home vs the Boks and the All Blacks and I don't imagine there'll be either travelling hordes of cash rich canadians or neutrals flocking to fill the stadium. Crazy stuff.

Anybody know whether there'll be packages available?

There won't be packages.... per the rwc site they want the supporters to "create their own" packages.

Yes, there'll be traveling and hospitality packages but no multi-game as far as I can see... from planet rugby...

The key dates to purchase tickets are:

January 1, 2014 - Travelling fan packages go on sale
February 2, 2014 - Hospitality packages go on sale
May/June 2014 - Tickets on sale to Rugby fans through Rugby clubs
September 2014 - General sale application process begins
November/December 2014 - Real time sale of remaining tickets

Probably try and make a couple of the games in St James park.

I guess I'm thinking that a ticket to France Ireland is about the same as a Leinster season ticket. Every game for the 3 time European champions of France vs Ireland. Yeah, tough call that one.

I'm always amazed at how outrageous the prices for the World Cup games are. Would put me right off going. It's one thing paying that money for a big final but every group match? F**k that!

How are they going to sell out Wembley (or even half sell out) for Ireland v Europe2 (Prob Georgia, Russia, Roumania) at any price above 20 quid. Not withstanding the expat community in London.

Its not a great draw for Ireland IMO. Ideally you would like to play a weaker team between playing Italy and France. France have a nice run up to the Ireland game.

Rugby World Cup launched Dates and Prices on Facebook last night and got some abuse from all corners of the world. We are relatively lucky that we are only over the pond, Southern Hemisphere Fans would need a mortgage to travel and tickets. The hotels won't want to miss out. Having 2nd thoughts about our 2023 bid now if this is the carry on.

Wembley 90,000 seater, half full max for Russia or whoever.
In Bordeaux 2007 the stadium took about 35,000 and the tickets were cheap enough. There was no bother getting a ticket.
There was plenty of French in the crowd too. The English casual supporter is not going to pay those prices to watch Ireland v Russia.

Will there be any chance ticket prices will drop after the initial sale if not all sold?

I live in Edinburgh and plan to travel to the Italy and France games via train or car. As it stands it looks like each weekend will cost around £100 for travel(minimum), £100 food and booze, £50 match ticket minimum and then accomodation if there's no mates couches to sleep on!

£250-£350 is a sh!t load of cash to be spending for a few weekends in a short period of time, let alone more if there's quarters or semis to go to.

"The (ticket) strategy has been designed to be as accessible and affordable as possible."

That's a line from the IRFU press release. No, really!

These are the people who brought you half empty stadiums against the biggest name teams in the world by charging 100 quid a ticket.
