At the time he was saying "don't use your hands" advice frankly that Henderson should have listened to whether it right was or wrong.
Henderson scooped the ball up and you would have expected BArnes to follow up his warning with a penalty and giving his in play warning a possible card.
But how could he give a penalty when he recognised that Henderson was legal.
Result - scrum,

Reminded me of Rolland looking for the number of the player that handled in the ruck in the Ulster v Munster game last season, so that he card could him. Watching the TMO he realised it was completely legal and that he was wrong. POM actually came over to him and said "it was me".

Result
no card but still a penalty.

Not his finest moment.

I will never understand posters who constantly want to shift their favourite players out of their best positions so that their current pet hates end up not being selected. POM is a great 6 and should start there. He's not an 8 so why play him there. SOB is a great 7 and should start there. He's not an 8 so why play him there. No instead pick someone that can play, does play and will play 8. I don't care who that is but just pick an 8. FFS rant over.

Oh and I'm glad Pape has been cited.

I taught that Barnes started well - France were off side all the time and he blew enough to stop the tactic. Problem is he did not stop blowing that whistle! right, wrong or indifferent he had to have an input. It did not favour either team or the game. It was like he had a spring under each arm he could not control - every time he stop running one arm would shoot up in the air.

The thought had crossed my mind as well.

I'm going to be so disappointed when he doesn't throw a book of scintillating original backs moves at England that they have been perfecting in training.

I hope they throw the book at Papé – 6 month ban wouldn't be too much for him.

It was a complete cheap shot, with no provocation, resulting in – and always likely to result in – a serious injury. This from a player who has accumulated 30 cards [28 yellow, 2 red] in his career [source: http://itsrugby.fr/joueur-102.html ].

Watch
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=L3HvvvnlGQI
2 deliberate knees to the head area of an admittedly illegal Richie McCaw. Referee looks familiar. Turned a probable yellow card for McCaw into a red card for Ireland and a relieving penalty for NZ

And then watch
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vHe2QQyuyUU

Both about 1 min 30 seconds

The first incident warranted a three week ban.

I don't know what point it is you're trying to make but there is no video in the second link just a still photo?

no idea his record was that bad, but citing panels especially ERC ones, very poor at taking previous records in to case
eg Cudmore still playing
hopefully 6n panel will be stricter

crucial aspect of ruling will be whether they view it as reckless or deliberate, to me definitely the latter

interesting Barnes can send someone off for swearing at him but spear tackles and striking opponents are yellow cards

I had genuine sympathy for Hartley that day. He totally said it, but jayzuz does that patronising c**t deserve it.

6 Nations test versus domestic final?
Hartley versus everyone else?
