Re: Steve Walsh Retires
Thank God. Almost as bad as Barnes but much more ego. I'd just about prefer to have Walsh refereeing a game and I'd just about prefer to have a beer with Barnes.
Has absolutely hated Ireland since the Horgan incident in '05 - he nearly found a way to give France a try at the end of the Paris fixture last year and gave Szarzewski his despite an obvious knock-on right before it!

Surely the correct official term is "Steve Walsh Flounces Out".
Re: Steve Walsh Retires
He got that job with Soul-Glo finally? Good for him.
Re: Steve Walsh Retires
Although I was never a fan, I would have preferred if last Saturday's game had been his last instead of he who shall not be named.....

Agreed 100%.Donny B. wrote:Although I was never a fan, I would have preferred if last Saturday's game had been his last instead of he who shall not be named.....
When I saw Walsh was the referee I was pretty happy. I was devastated that he was replaced by Barnes.
He might be full of himself but I think SW was a better ref than people think.
Re: Steve Walsh Retires
I would say he got better after he came back from his personal problems. Still could be infuriating at times but did have a better feel for the game after that.suisse wrote:Agreed 100%.Donny B. wrote:Although I was never a fan, I would have preferred if last Saturday's game had been his last instead of he who shall not be named.....
