There are a few players that would be eligible now. Giteau being one that comes to mind that I would have in my squad. But perhaps more interesting are the number of players that are about to reach the requisite cap mark and probably will at the WC that will be eligible to play overseas thereafter. I think there are quite a few.

Arse! That means we're likely to be missing Douglas for the RWC and won't get the value from him we thought we would.

Edit: It says they have to have 60 caps for the wallabies.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
England A 8 - 14 Ireland A, 25th Jan 2014
Ruddock(c) 19/2 Tackles

Don't think Kane is a worry as he hasn't got the caps.

You can bet they looked at who had what amount of caps before they decided on 60.

Also 7 years on a Super contract.

They will cap all the important players whose cap totals are in the 50s during the Quad Nations and World Cup. Freeing them up to head off.

Mourad will be pi$$ed off though. Giteau and Mitchell missing for the WC..... Outch

Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell and George Smith are the only ones currently playing in Europe that will meet the criteria before the RWC. There's a few contracted to European clubs for next season that will now be able to continue playing for Australia, like Adam-Ashley Cooper, Will Genia and James Horwill.
