Re: The injury list
A few points come to mind.
1. Are unfit players being rushed back into action.
Either physically unfit or just not match fit.
2. Joe et al can limit the amount of match minutes our players get.
Could this be counter productive.
Just needs to be re-evaluated.
3. Is the selection of injury prone players disruptive of team building and counter productive.
SOB for example.
4. Does flogging a player (eg Jack McGrath) make it more likely that injuries will occur.
5. Is there anything statistically significant about our injuries compared to other countries.

Re: The injury list
Payne is probably out for the England game (Joe said post France match). SOB seems to almost definitely be out.
I would imagine we'll see something like this vs England:
1.McGrath 2.Best 3.Ross
4.McCarthy/Ryan 5.Toner
6.Stander 8.Heaslip 7.TOD
9.Murray 10.Sexton 12.Henshaw 13.Earls 14.Trimble
11.Zebo 15.R.Kearney
16.Cronin/Strauss 17.Healy 18.White 19.McCarthy/Ryan 20.Ruddock 21.Reddan 22.Madigan 23.McFadden

Re: The injury list
Dillane could well make the bench if McCarthy is out, if he's fit he starts but doubt McCarthy will be on the benchneiliog93 wrote:Payne is probably out for the England game (Joe said post France match). SOB seems to almost definitely be out.

would be very surprised to see Earls in midfield ahead of either of the Ulster boys

Re: The injury list
Joe likes Earls, even as a centre. If McCarthy is out we will see Dillane on the bench, which he won't get off unless Ryan or Toner gets injured during the match vs England.

Re: The injury list
I agree but I expect it to happen. Depressing that the likes of Dillane won't get off the bench unless someone gets injured.FLIP wrote:If Earls plays at 13 again we'll deserve to lose.

Re: The injury list
Jared Payne had a dead leg. He'll be fine for England and the midfield will remain as is.

Re: The injury list
Earls' tackling is/has gotten really good, its his positioning that would worry me

Re: The injury list
Good on the wing, where he basically has very little choice on who he has to tackle. Defending well at centre is different because you have to make the right call on who to tackle and when.simonokeeffe wrote:Earls' tackling is/has gotten really good, its his positioning that would worry me
Anyone But New Zealand
Re: The injury list
When did they change the tackle laws, time was when a player could only be tackled when the had the ball.
Re: The injury list
Grade 1 hamstring tear, is a doubt but might play. SOB is grade 2 so is pretty much definitely out.Logorrhea wrote:Jared Payne had a dead leg. He'll be fine for England and the midfield will remain as is.

Yeah I heard that too. I was just following the reports issued by the Irish camp after the match.neiliog93 wrote:Grade 1 hamstring tear, is a doubt but might play.
