Re: 2016 Summer Tours by furriners
Joubert just constantly bottles the big decisions but especially awarding cards, neck roll by Robshaw, England killing it repeatedly on their own line
That said England's defence was superb and their halfbacks but mainly their 10 played like grown ups
From the earlier game, for a test match rugby team Wales sure as hell have no ball skills, Liam Williams (wasted on wing) is the only footballer in that 3/4 line. The pack do not have the handling either. Welsh lineout was destroyed under pressure too

Joubert was appalling with a number of decisions
Early on Oz prop penalized for pushing as the line-out was being set-up - 3 points England
Robshaw, neck roll plus 1 other England pen overturned as Moore retaliated, another ref could have penalized England and put Robshaw in bin
'reviewing' Farrell's elbow on Foley and deciding to award England another penalty for shepherding which both teams had been doing throughout the game - idiotic decision
Before halftime, Oz camped on England line, pen awarded, advantage played, oz being marched backwards and eventually ball coughed up - no advantage gained and it should have been brought back to the original penalty.
Australia though were the architects of their own downfall.
Phipps - very poor game management
Foley - his main tactic was to dummy and run and Ford
Turning down kickable penalties twice - idiotic decisions, the score was 6-13 with about 20 left to play yet still went for touch
Handling errors - havent seen the stats but Faardy and McMahon knocked on about 5 balls between them
Surprisingly little guile in Oz's attack

I was really surprised at how bad Australia's handling was. England's defence was outstanding though. They're now at the stage I thought they'd reach (and should have) about two years ago.

Georgia beat Tonga in Fiji whilst Italy beat US in the States. Totally denuded French team go down to Argentina in Tucamen and Canada beat Russia by double scores.
France playing without any of the players in Top 14 semi-finalists makes a complete joke of "international window". Clearly the Canal + chequebook has bought the soul of the FFR. Shame on them!

Bringing Leali'ifano, who is a good goal-kicker, in at 12 would sort out a lot of their problems in my view. Kerevi and Kuridrani don't really complement each othersimonokeeffe wrote:theyre just effed for a 10 or competition for one

So has Ben Teo been anglicised yet.
If so how did he do.

Toomua has been injured, I think he's on his way to Leicester for pre season training now.simonokeeffe wrote:theyre just effed for a 10 or competition for one

Re: 2016 Summer Tours by furriners
He did Dane Coles do that?! Brilliant.
Wales have looked knackered from about the 20th minute but the skill levels and pace of NZ are incredible. Plus they've just played musical chairs with their backline and are still looking so slick.

Yep. Doesn't matter what situation they are in - they look like scoring. I'm not sure the lions would beat any of these teams, other than the blues.

44 points away is serious scoring by England. They can mix it better than before. Well deserved win.

J Davies lack of pace (off the mark) really badly exposed.
Not sure how new style will work without Scott Williams starting ahead of Roberts and 1/2p at 15
England have the forwards to outmuscle everyone ranked below them

Not half as much as Patchells! Hes a decent player but he has the turning circle of a medium sized continent.simonokeeffe wrote:J Davies lack of pace (off the mark) really badly exposed.

Nigel Owens has clearly added on a new storey to his colossal ego, by once again making new rugby laws when he feels like. A kick goes so high it touches the TV wire and comes back straight to an England player. Owens waves play off and when Moore questions it, says "it was contestable" so it was grand. No, once a ball touches a foreign object on the pitch, including the ref, a scrum is automatically called. His general reffing of the offside rule and breakdown were generally dire as well, but no worries, he had some nice quips to the players to put on his twitter feed.
