It was easier to give the try than the PT and card sexton

So many little infringements. I think even this ref and TMO will have to give a yellow for the next illegal clear-out/no arms tackle from the ABs in the second half.

Finally a card for foul play. Should have been a red for a swinging arm!

Shoulder charge on Murray right in front of the ref, yet again only a penalty!

The intensity of the NZ defense won the game. It's romantic to give the man of the match to Barrett for his attaching play. It was the hits and pressure that did it

I'm very proud of Ireland tonight. In the face of a scumbag New Zealand All Brands team deliberately seeking to injure our best players, with corrupt officials making sure the Kiwis don't lose twice in a row, they never gave up and kept on trying. The New Zealanders pulled very dirty trick in the book and the referees let almost every one of them go.

Shame on World Rugby. Shame on New Zealand. Have your dirty win, you didn't deserve it.

The arm around the neck.

Third try was bogus IMO, but look we didnt score one.

All the selections were justified.

Best was astonishing but so many were. I was delightfully wrong about whether Sean O'Brien was ready.

The angle that shows Sexton holding it up also shows it not around the neck.

Very disappointed with the result. I think Ireland will really look at the number of balls lost in the red zone and be pretty unhappy with it.

We had enough chances to win but the NZ defense won the battle.

We brutalised them up front again, won most of the collisions. We just aren't clinical enough, especially without our key playmakers. But looking ahead all the way to the next RWC, we can definitely beat them.

We got shafted with a few first half decisions but I think we got a number of questionable 2nd half calls. Problem was we were behind at that point with 3 early subs on so it was a matter of NZ hanging on.

Some very dirty play from NZ. Really poor stuff. Not much more to say.

Anyway, onto us. Huge performance in the collisions but we were quite poor at making and using space. Some handling errors let us down. SOB's knock on with the line at his mercy was a real gut punch but they hung in and fought to the end. Lots of great performances in the pack and some great defending through the team. But as a backline we were totally outgunned. Partially due to the dirty-play-induced injuries, partially selection based, partially that NZ were just more skilful. That's the benchmark for our backs.

The repeated high hits, cheap shots and foul play is nothing to aim for. If you have to play like that to win, I think I'd prefer to lose.

The Barrett try was probably a good score, but how the TMO was so certain I don't know. I think Peyper should have taken initiative rather than defer the decision. He was a bit shocked when the TMO actually gave it, I thought.

Marvelous defensive effort from the ABs. Just kept everything out. Ref hammered them and they still got up and made tackle after tackle. Need to work on discipline for next week.

Anyway, I was starting to wonder if this team had ticker without McCaw leading them. This performance shows me it's building.

Ireland just lacked that finishing touch tonight. Set piece was great, made some breaks, just couldn't finish. Bonus Isa in the crowd with Irish scarf on sighting too.

Your second sentence pretty much explains the first one, no?
