Yeah was wondering on Kelleher all right would make you think it is hard to play your way into this team & picked from provincial games back in the summer. McGrath definetley unlucky rate him higher than both Connolly and Mulvihill as he covers both sides but powers that be think otherwise.

Kelleher didn't even play in the interpros.

I know Leinster rate him highly but his injury profile has to be a major concern. Who are the other options at 2 from Munster, Connacht & Ulster

Adam Moloney(Munster) & Shane O'Hehir(Connacht) were the other hookers looked at.

neither have been involved at a national level until this season.

Conor Maguire(Leinster) not being involved is a surprise, was ireland u19 hooker last year and is playing regularly for Old Wesley in 1B. Wasn't even involved with extended squad over christmas.

playing with UCD u20, wasn't involved with Leinster over the summer.

Tom De Jongh is a more notable absentee, Barry Fitzpatrick aswell. Both are 7's.

Notable that from the previous two leinster senior cup winning schools, only 1 player is involved with Ireland u20

I watched an U18 game between Ireland and England and Kelleher was one of the stand out players. Doris too.

Kelleher is a fine player no doubt can also play loosehead but hasn't played for anyone in almost a year not ideal prep to be chosen as only 1 of 2 hookers in the squad who will be thrown right in, will be hard for him to produce his best possible form

Think he has his finals and is focusing on those. Not sure he'd make it to the highest level but would love to see him have a go next year when he's graduated.
