Trevor Brennan was about 6' 5" and 18st.
Played mostly at 6 for Leinster and Ireland.
Was an automatic choice for Gatland but the blazers weren't keen, Gatland is on record as saying he had to fight to include Brennan every time he selected him.
His move to Toulouse was a surprise and a big loss.
He gave the sides he played for, real steel and an edge.
Played 6 and SR for Toulouse, first choice a lot of time
Pretty sure he has at least one Heineken Medal.
Hope that helps

I think the fact that he wasn't picked for Ireland might had more to do with the fact that he was up again Lions locks like Paul O'Connell, Jeremy Davidson and Mal O'Kelly, players were clearly much better than he was. He wasn't an automatic choice for Gatland either, far from it!

He was a flanker, pretty sure he never played lock for Ireland or Leinster.

His partners in the back row were victor and Gleeson, both at Leinster and Mary's.

Blazers had a huge problem with him, but in fairness the bigger Easterby was a smashing 6 too.

In the back row he'd have been up against the likes of Dion O'Cuinneagain, Eric Miller, Kieron Dawson, Andy Ward and Simon Easterby - all better players in my opinion. Think he made quite a lot of appearances from the bench for the caps he got. He did win 12 caps for Ireland and won 2 European Cups so a pretty decent return!

Brennan played second row as well as flanker for both Leinster and Ireland, most often as a sub.

I stand corrected, I will put that one back under my hat. Always thought he was exclusively a 6, but makes some sense to be subbed on in either second or back row, he was both strong, powerful, fast and aggressive.

More recent articles (French, I think) described Brennan jnr as 1,92 m (around 6'4") and 125 kg.

He is that big but the younger son, Josh, is even taller and starting for French U.16 team. Met him with Trevor, Victor Costello and Reggie Corrigan at Castres game. The lot of them blotted out the floodlights! Very nice young chap.

Any hope of reclaiming at least some Brennans for Ireland?

Nope, the big lad is one of the younger Skeltons. Not sure who the smaller lad is though -

Tala Grey (No that's not a breed of horse from West Dublin) and Will Skelton's little brother when he was 13. Logan I believe his name is. He has another brother called Cameron who is the size of a shopping centre. Wouldn't like to upset their Ma....
