you dont get to practice defending contestable kicks or kicks to the corners playing 7s

One of Conan/Leavy may be kept for 24th man, or POM might not make it.
Conan isn't in the squad, is he?

Every time we play dodgy wingers this comes up and it rarely ever seems to happen in the games. Sure the inevitable box kicks from Murray but i don't see an aerial bombardment.
Scannell and Dillane out, Carberry left to get up match speed/fitness
Dillane injured too or is he just been told to play back into full fitness/form?
Roux brought in so the birthers can get worked up again, WE COULD BE PLAYING FRANCE WITH ALMOST HALF AS MANY PROJECT PLAYERS AS THEM!
My dog seems to have suffered the same injury as JVDF, must be some High School anti Wesley voodoo

With just 17 forwards named only 4 will not play against France. Presumably these are Tracy, Roux, O'Donnell & Leavy although squad selection of both O'Donnell & Leavy and not Conan could be interpreted as wanting to play a more expansive game.

Probably more just a cover thing tbh - POM/SOB/Stander and Heaslip cover 6 and 8 very well, 7 just about
If Dillane isn't injured its very strange to drop him - sure don't select him but not sure why he would be dropped entirely

In a horses for courses selection I can see Roux on the bench.
If POM isn't fit Henderson will bench as well
Scannell n/a means Tracey will bench.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

A back row of Heaslip, Stander, O'Brien gives you three who can play 8, two 6s, and one 7 so to me the no 20 may very well be a 7. Have not seen much of O'Donnell recently but he has done well for JS in the past but Leavy is very impressive last few months and his try scoring ability from close in a big plus.
That said POM on way back and helped us win game against Australia and will bring other qualities but one good thing about JS is that he will never shirk a hard decision for popularity sake so I'm confident he will make the best choice whatever that is.

I kind of want to see that happen.
With the strength in depth in the backrow a fit and inform POM is still not guaranteed selection. I know that will not go down well in that part of the internet but it is a great place for Ireland to be.
Absolutely relieved and delighted that RK latest injury not proven to be serious. Having a fairly full hand to select from will be important to the entire group. Real tough luck on JVDF but Leavy is a very strong Squad substitute.
