Agreed. Especially with the schedule they have at the moment it's nuts. I can see us easing our Lions back in slowly to give them time to recuperate.by neiliog93 » June 9th, 2017, 6:07 pm

as Henshaw will miss a huge amount of next season because of the Lions.
Lions are always back the same time as the Irish summer tourists.
Which is a bit silly from a point of view of longevity, mental and physical burnout and and player welfare generally. They need an extra week off.

Re: Tour to Japan
Why do they need extra time off (and a week is not a huge amount of next season by the way)?
Sean, with his two Leinster games in 2017? Johnny with his, what, four?
They aren't overplayed as it is.
And perhaps thats the problem. It has taken on the air of a shibboleth in Irish Rugby, but maybe we protect our players too much, then when they are made available for selection, invariably for a high profile/importance fixture, their bodies simply can't adjust to the intensity

Been saying that for a while myself but think this would be as good a time as any to give guys a sabbatical. Thought it should have happened after the World Cup and still reckon it would have been a good idea. Might end up being pointless but certainly seemed to work for McCaw and Carter.

Never mentioned SOB. As for Sexton maybe your right but something has to done because I've lost count of how many games where he has gone off with an injury. Sexton is literally a 60 min player these days.by Dave Cahill » June 10th, 2017, 1:32 am

Pulling guys out of normal matches and only playing them in the bigger more intense matches can be a recipe for runs of injuries.Dave Cahill wrote:Why do they need extra time off (and a week is not a huge amount of next season by the way)?

Not sure if taking an extended break helps in that circumstance barring specific injury management.

Any link to the USA game

Picture quality is shite even on eir sports. Great start by Ireland up until then. Had the ball 5 times and scored 3 tries.

Marmion is one fast player. Great acceleration too.

29-7 half time, tries by Earls (2), Stockdale, N Scannell, Marmion. One conversion each from Ringrose and Carberry. Carberry is taking the ones from the Right hand side of the field, Ringrose left.TerenureJim wrote:Score?

Ringrose has a 100% record kicking from the tee in International rugby; long may it last!
Re: Tour to Japan
24 International tries for Ireland now for Earls.
But, 6 V Italy, 2 V Canada, 2 V Fiji, 2 V Russia, 2 V Romania, and 2 V USA.

Cheers rtb. Didn't see eir sports 2 on me dodgy box.
Re: Tour to Japan
Another charge down try from Carberrys kick.
Not sure you'd see either of those in a proper test match as a referee wouldn't be giving the other side so much latitude in how offside they are.
