Some Irish players (backs) not up to necessary skill level for World Cup challengers but overall just a very poor coaching effort with no innovation or clever use of our resources - Millar or Murphy or Cronin.

Felt sorry for players but no sympathy for Anthony Eddy or Tom Tierney.
There were actually *two* decent articles by Gavin Cummiskey in today's Irish Times - one about Ireland's underperformance in the WRWC and an interview with Bernard Laporte.

Maybe the WRWC has made him grow up as a writer, or maybe it's just another sign of the apocalypse

Irish results as expected, coaching teams etc messed around all year splitting the squad up for 7 's and 15 game suffered, very poor show by the management, but a valiant effort by the girls playing in such an environment.

No tactical improvement in game against Aussies who lead 26-12 after 55 mins. Irish passing at out-half is terrible and ensuring we can't move any ball.

Gosh Ireland are a really dumb side, nothing but brawn, deserve everything we get in this tournament. Hopefully this is the message required to the Ireland women and U20 coaching staff that this route one rugby is finished, U20s humiliated by doing it and the same with the women.

Anybody who is close to a TV should have a look at NZ v USA. An absolutely stonking game so far with NZ a point ahead after first quarter with high quality rugby!

Well done to the excellent Women's rugby teams from USA, France, England and, above all New Zealand. All four teams today proved convincingly that their individual and team skills are worthy of objectively approval wherever the game is played.

The individual skills on display are not always based on a lifetime of training in the game but nevertheless they are of high quality. Their teamwork and game appreciation provided great spectacle throughout the Tournament and gave great enjoyment to many rugby spectators.

Well done to all the players and teams and well done to the supporters who added to the spectacle.

I only saw the second half byt NZ were simply outstanding today. Just goes to show how much catching up the rest of the world needs to do.

What a slap in the face for Women's rugby in Ireland. Very poor from the IRFU.

The rumour going around is that Hook is being considered for the job.
Since he's been freed up for a bit.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

IIRC wasnt there uproar and rightly so about the new coach being part time too? Whoever it is is the team manager so theres a lot of work involved. If they thought a full time She Wolves coach would be under utilised Im sure theres tonnes of media, sponsorship, and grassroots coaching they coulod find for them
When he spreads his legs like that youd need dynamite or the Highland Light Infantry to shift him.

It won't be long before the women are demanding equal pay to the men.

Extraordinary, especially given the progress made in the last few years. Ridiculous carry-on.
