He is contracted to Ireland to the world cup. Could this be another Lam/Rassie scenario?

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

I was about to say why would he go there, seeing as it's the Sarries of the north, just without the money or success. And then realised I had 2 reasons why in that sentence. Surely it wouldn't be a great career choice unless Sale are getting some more money and more fans from somewhere.

Re: Andy Farrell to Sale rumour
Farrell has turned down an approach from England to return to the fold. To replace Gustard apparently.
"Farrell is happily settled with his family in a smart suburb of Dublin, not far from the Aviva Stadium."
From the Mail, so must be true.

You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

I hope, for once, that The Maily Dail has the correct story. Apart from his obvious contribution to the current Coaching set-up under Joe, which is very significant, the Irish players trust his judgement to the extent that a couple of them have indicated he could be a successor to Joe in due course.
Let's hope he is firmly embedded and sees his Irish future as long-term.

One thing that the IRFU should do when Joe does finally hang up his Irish boots would be to get his input on possible successors.
Some of the coaches recruited into Ireland have been inspired signings.

Lancaster has to be in the frame. In which case Farrell might head back to England. Hard to see the two of them on the same ticket.Oldschool wrote:One thing that the IRFU should do when Joe does finally hang up his Irish boots would be to get his input on possible successors.
