I watched the Australia v Italy match. It was an easy win for Australia but the score doesn't tell the full story. Italy had most territory but couldn't score. Australia were very good going forward but Italy had over 40 missed tackles! I'd guess the Italians gave away about 15 breakdown penalties. The Aus backrow destroyed them although many penalties should have gone the other way by not releasing the tackled player etc.


First time seeing Australia.
- They're very good with ball in hand. Run great lines and have good ball carriers especially the backrow.
- They're good at the breakdown.
- Defensively they look good. A big team.
- Kicking from hand was surprisingly bad. They made numerous errors and their clearances to touch didn't get very far.
- Their scrum was dominated for most of the match.
- They lost loads of lineouts.


Their backrow would be my main concern. It's a new Irish backrow without Moloney and Penney so it will be interesting to see how they do.

Cracking game! Super result. England's discipline was appalling. Two yellows for no arm / high tackles and then a straight redfor a shocking pile-driver. Thugs, as per f%~king usual.

The English number 16 is an absolute gobshite, the match was over after his redcard. Off the ball gets under Hodnett lifts him up and drops him over his shoulders. It’s the worst type of faux hardness you can see. Surprised it was just the Irish trying to thump the head of him he ended any chance England had as well.

Huge kicks at really important moments. Our entire pack were excellent, but the tight 5 especially. Unbelievable work rate. Massive hits, then just bouncing up again. Really impressive.
