Partnerships with Toner and Henderson so power looks to be on the agenda.

Big game for Ross Byrne, he needs to be given a shot with the Carbery knock. Henshaw and Earls rested.
Byrne has steadily improved over the last couple of seasons, is still improving and could become a great OH in time.
He has already proven the doubters wrong (myself included)
I think Carty and Byrne are good enough to steer us through the RWC if Sexton and Carberry don't make it.

Paddy power has us at +9. This could be a tough knock about. Fingers crossed no injuries.

Does that mean we should win or lose by 9?

If it's that close then it's game on for the RWC.
What are people expecting from Ireland tomorrow in terms of performance rather than result
Will we be able to turn back the tide that was the English pack in the 6Ns. We should be better up front but will it be enough?
Billy, in particular, was a handful.
Will we deal better with their kicking game.
Will Byrne get enough possession to ask his own questions and set down a marker for Japan.

Lose.

It's what we'd need for them to see it as an even contest i.e. 9 extra points.

Not sure how I feel about this one. We've selected a strong squad, but not our best. The result is somewhat unimportant if the trials, strategies and techniques yield the correct result for the management team. But momentum and confidence is going to be very important from here on out.

France have made a few errors and are far from the complete package but they've made giant strides in terms of structure and workrate IMO. Dupont is so good and so influential that he could end up winning them the World Cup on his own, he really is a phenomenal player. Penaud brilliant as well, just a constant threat and very clever player.

Scotland's defence still looks really poor despite all the changes, but they're getting away with it a bit because of the French errors. They're getting very frustrated and giving away stupid penalties and making really poor errors too. Early days in this match and still a month to go before we play them but they really don't look to be in great shape right now.

And as I post that France get another try and go 14-3 up.

Someone mentioned that Dyantyi might be injured for the World Cup...turns out he failed a drug test!

Better second half from Scotland tbf. They held onto possession by keeping it tighter, and used the boot more which gave them a much stronger foothold in the game.

France messed it up a few times by throwing it forward but Scotland are very very vulberable to an inside ball. The shooter and the inside defenders just aren't in sync at all.

Same defensive error causing all 3 tries. Fixable but annoying.

Lineout decision making is stupid.

Stockdale shooting out of the line for all three. Not all his fault but not great.

It's clearly a systematic error. Fixable.

Anybody have a position on May’s forearm fend that knocked out Murray, is it a legitimate form of fend? Does he have no responsibility because it was his ball carrying arm? Looked like he knew what he was doing?

Seems like they tried to not show a replay of it, eventually showed a quick one. No comment on it and none at half time.

Pretty sure that it is against the laws but Owen's is leaving a lot of things go today
