Wilkinson suffers another injury

Wilkinson has not played for Newcastle since last November
Newcastle fly-half Jonny Wilkinson has been ruled out of the Falcons clash with Gloucester on Sunday after suffering yet another injury setback.
Wilkinson was forced out of training on Tuesday with a groin problem and examinations revealed he suffered an "acute injury to his right adductor".

"This is an unfortunate setback," Falcons rugby director Rob Andrew told the club's website.

"It is now in the hands of the medics who will continually monitor him."

The latest injury is unrelated to the operation Wilkinson had on a hernia last November.

Wilkinson has not played for his club since then.

He tore his adductor muscle on his right in January, but had returned to full training and was named on the bench for the game with London Irish last weekend although he did not feature in the 9-6 victory.

Wilkinson has been dogged by injury since kicking the winning drop goal for England in the 2003 World Cup final.

He has also suffered neck, knee ligament and bicep injuries as well as appendicitis.
