They didn't even meet there. They met in Geneva because Neuchatel (which was selected because the English and French vetoed Paris and London respectively and both vetoed Dublin), was too difficult to get to for meetings. However, the Canton in which Neuchatel is situated certainly has the most beneficial taxation and governance regime.

Suppose tax reasons are null and void as they struggle to get sponsors anyway.

I'm sure you know that Switzerland is not part of the EU but I would not be so sure that they do.

Heineken are probably laughing, theyre getting slightly less exposure for far less money. Even them continuing their assiciation is probably putting off other sponsors

Its actually worked out very nicely for Heineken. A couple of times over the HEC's history they gave serious thought to stepping back their sponsorship as they were worried that the 'Heineken Cup' brand was becoming something in and of itself and one that people didn't necessarily associate with Heineken - the beer. They came very close to pulling out in, I think, 2007 with Fiat being lined up as replacement name sponsor (imagine, having two companies interested in the naming rights - ooh the luxury). Now they don't have to worry about their brand losing connection to their product but they still get huge exposure without the premium of naming rights.

Apaprently sponsorship is down right across sports. With more money going to "E" games , whatever the hell that is.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

Young person stuff, dont care for it myself

PRL and 6N both having sponsorship troubles. Not sure on European data other than BeIn but North America having a huge amount of cord cutting ie cancelling subscriptions, so even less people seeing the premium channell sports

Competitive gaming, Starcraft etc. There's even talk of a few video games making it into a separate 'E' games part of the Olympics! (Would be dominated by S.Korea, Japan and the US).

“Sport” that you can do from a sitting position on your sofa. It’s the future... apparently!

It’s Netflix. TV sports coverage and packaging has been getting more expensive and restrictive when other entertainment media has gone completely the opposite way.

Funny how it always seems to loose its aura when they have a shite year? Not exactly a body with great internal locus of control is the old prem, always someone else's fault.
