It was indeed. Good man Fla!Dave Cahill wrote:that was rather good!
Re: Jerry Flannery
Hook knows what he's at.
His rhetoric gets less valid and more provocative the higher profile the game he is covering is.
if he was covering Connacht v Zebre he wouldn't bother with his usual persona and just analyse the game and I've seen him doing so for very low-profile games.
He does well out of it, the people who take him seriously should know better.
Fla is a funny chap though.

He is funny!
So is his Gaelige.

Absolutely. It's all proportional. In the same way that a hotter a girl is the crazier she is, Hooks bombast levels increase in accordance with his audience number. He knows exactly what he's doing, I suspect.Morf wrote:Hook knows what he's at.

He did a web based thing during the RWC that would have had a very small audience and he was very rational and sensible in his analysis and criticisms.

Re: Jerry Flannery
That's an attractive hypothesis but it doesn't explain the few times I've seen him covering Pro12 when he's come out with utterly specious nonsense.
It's always a shock when he says or writes something sensible. Best policy is just to avoid him at all times. I watch 6N on BBC. Having somebody in the middle of the conversation makes it very difficult for anyone to talk sense. He drags everyone else down.

George quite often says sensible things in my view, just the way he puts them tends not to be all that sensible.
Also I like Fla, funny guy.
