Re: New French Top 14 TV Deal
I look forward to Toulon winning the Welsh semi pro league next year after theyve pulled out of every other tournament

Quite the opposite, I'm saying it wouldn't work.Lar wrote:You aren't seriously suggesting the PRL join the RaboPro12 are you?Oldschool wrote:In order to have a viable 6Ns competition each country needs some of their clubs competing in a high level league.
This effectively means the three leagues currently in existence meet the above requirement.
The French are sorted, which leaves the rest.
If you look at the only other practical option then just for arguments sake each country needs 2 guaranteed places in a combined league.
So 10 places are gone leaving 4 remaining say 6 if you have a 14 team league.
That's spare 6 is just not enough and relegation would be gone.
The Welsh are the key and the real problem here seems to be that they don't know what they want either the clubs or the WRU.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

He should join a proper meritocratic league, the Rabo. We don't split our income, let along split it evenly; we don't have a salary cap, we even made the Italians pay us to be allowed play.Lar wrote:I know he is a comic book king but Boudjellal is beginning to sound suspiciously McCafferty like in that article.Kinger83 wrote:Not everyone is happy with the new deal it seems..

He talks about a top 6 within the top14 but the reality is I'm not sure who that 6 is. Biarritz, Castres, Perpignan, Racing, Montpellier, Toulon, Toulouse, Castre, Stade Francais, Clermont. That's, eh, 10 huge clubs, and even the stragglers are Bayonne, Brive, Bordeaux and Oyonnax.

You forgot Grenoble and cited Castres 2 times
Biarritz will play in ProD2 next year.
The only problem of Mourad Boudjellal is: I want you to talk about me.
Au revoir.

No I don't. Living at home with a father who swore years ago he'd never pay Sky for sports coverage and fair play to him he's never gone back on his word!!!simonokeeffe wrote:you not have sky for HC already?Xanthippe wrote:Damn, so not only am I losing my free Pro12 games to Sky now they're also taking my free Top 14 ones too?Dave Cahill wrote:Sky have won the T14 rights for the UK&I for the next 5 years from next season

I recorded setanta's coverage of the game tonight.
It was a wonderful fifteen minutes entertainment as I fast-forwarded through all the penalty kicks

If only it was that easy! He's very strong minded and determined - there's no hope of having Sky in the house until the day I own it and needless to say (most of the time) I hope that won't be for a long timePeg Leg wrote: You could pay, he'd get the best of both worlds. Re: New French Top 14 TV Deal
I won't be able to justify both Sky & BT next year. Do people think it will be worth keeping the Sky Sports subscription on without having BT? I have a faint hope that Sky will have a heavier weighting of European matches involving Rabo teams, and BT will have more English teams - but I'm sure that's wrong.
