The intensity and ferocity at the breakdown is far and above what the 6 nations has had on display, in most of the games I have watched. Some serious clean outs and hits going on, SH rugby looks to have upped things a notch, its going to be a long summer tour for NH teams.

You obviously didn't watch todays games so. Because if you had two things would have been apparent to you.

1) It wasn't Rugby Union. It looked a lot like it, but there were a number of key giveaways. The Laws were different for a start. You could pass the ball forward, you could go off your feet to seal off the ball, you could tackle without making any pretence at using the arms, you don't have to touch the ball down to score a try - they seemed to be using some kind of NFL, once the ball breaks the plane of the line its a score type thing, the offside line seemed to be dependent on whether it looked like the ball would go wide - if you made a tackle that prevented the ball going wide, that was offside, the scrum feed was straight if it led to a passing move, it wasn't if the eightman picked and went, lineout throws that came off the top were all straight even if they weren't, ones that led to mauls were crooked - even if they weren't.

2) Now admittedly I'm judging this by the standards of Rugby Union, which it wasn't, but the games were sh!t.

It is a higher plane of rugby, unintelligible to those dwelling on the planes below.

Chekia shares DC's sentiments(^^^) on the game down south, between punching out windows and this, he is going to deck someone before the season is over.

How did Benji get on?
He was washed up for the Tigers and so far looks washed up for the Blues, playing him at ten certainly isnt helping though, he should be at 13 or full back.
Well you weren't far wrong, he's looking to be released from his contract in an attempt to return to NRL!

Wonder how he'll be received?

Especially mentioning his lack of drive/motivation for League in his last 18/24 months at the Wests at every opportunity.

Admitted he was only an average union player. Insists he got everything out of his 8 months that he wanted too. Must've been pining for some splinters in his arse, if that's the case.

RL teams will be rubbing their hands.

Waning performances before he left Wests. Coming home with his tail between his legs.

A crafty team boss could get him at a pretty good wage for his previous profile and he might have a point to prove - again that is.

If I was him I'd give rugby league in the uk or even better Catalans a try, hell get an easier standard of rugby, the wages will be great and hell be coming in as the main man.

Always good to see new places and get paid well to do it!

Only one NRL team manager had any interest seemingly. At a big cut in wages too I'd wager.

You could well be right about Superleague.

Nope - Australia, NZ have bylaws stating that they can't pick overseas based players. England the same but they have an 'under special circumstances' rule.

It's a big shame we won't see him at the world cup, he's a cracking player and obviously loves his rugby. Here's hoping his move to Japan will help his situation.

Japan move gives him more money (probably) but a lot more time off to be with his family, hopefully he'll be back in International rugby in a couple of years
