Yes, and thats the whole point of the exercise.

The moment one of these guys even thinks about representing Fiji they will be booted out. Combined with Sevens, these academies are the gravestones marking the death of Fijian rugby.
Pretty much my thoughts on it too.
Why on earth would the Fiji union condone this? Money?
Doesn't read as though they were consulted at all:
It said Brive rugby director Nicolas Godignon had won permission from Fiji education authorities to establish the facility

lets not forget the smallest of those 3 is a french international hooker so even for 10 or 12 guys (on scooters with weapons) thats pretty psychotic

Some of them (4) have already been arrested.

Millau is a very small town (I did'nt even know there was a nightclub there), it would be easy to find those guys and know what exactly happened.

Top 14 TV deal has been cancelled from the end of the coming season by the French Competition Authority. They have ruled that a new competition for rights must be held by the end of Jan 2015. The deal from Canal+ was worth €335million and was to run for 5 years

That's probably not going to make it any easier for EPRC to sell the French TV rights if Canal + and the other companies are more intent on sorting out the T14 deal.

5 years is too much for exclusive deals under EU law. Posted this in the old ERC thread. Max is 3 years(If I've read that right).

From the article
Even more pointedly, the European Commission, when examining the sale of broadcasting rights in the UEFA Champions League decision, laid down basic ground rules for the sale of exclusive broadcasting rights by an organising body to a broadcaster. These would include an open tender process - and a duration of no more than three years. BT Sport's deal with PRL to broadcast the Aviva Premiership - the foundation stone of the whole dispute, and the bread-and-butter of PRL clubs - is for four years.

On which note, one looks at the announcement (in Spanish) of some €14.5m in fines for selling exclusive broadcast rights in Spanish for four, as opposed to three, years - HERE - as well as the recent Commission announcement into the basic concept of selling exclusive territorial broadcast rights (as dealt with in THIS excellent blogpost from Blackstone Chambers), looks at that aspect of the BT Sports deal, and at the very least check wonder as to the footing of those at one stage so eager to litigate.
Good work commercial geniuses!

The French deal was odd. 60m for domestic and supposedly 7m for RCC.....Trying to do what PRL did and take a massive signing on bonus before sharing the revenue with everyone else? The fact they never had an open tender process for it is fishy. They near doubled their money on the previous domestic deal and halved the euro part.
