Jesus the project players stuff is a joke.
Re: Munster 2014/2015
It's November. If he was IQ in September you would not be able to stick your nose on here for walltowall munsterfans demanding he be selected in the 31 ahead of Heaslip.simonokeeffe wrote: Stander (IQ in September)

Saili
Botha
Bleyendaal
Van den Heever
Chisholm/Stander
Presuming that Chisholm does not arrive before Stander becomes iq. And sure if he does it's only WC Cover for Paulie and D Ryan.
Also VDH is iq in a year and Bleyendaal is a project too. They will only have 4 after Christmas as it stands.
Munster mafia have done a great job there. 6 NIQ's for nearly half the season.
Mick Dawson, pull your finger out!

If only Copeland was fit
Think Josh Strauss only qualifies for Scotland 2 days before the tournament or something crazy like that
@Deco theyre down to 4 from December and they are betting big on Cronin's conversion to tighthead working

Re: Munster 2014/2015
Good signing by Munster. I am still hopefull that we see Foley and Ryan as our starting second row pair for next season, but this adds good depth in the second row.
Munster are still in the market for a Th, so we will still be over the quota, but this is probably compensation for POC leaving.

Re: Munster 2014/2015
Super signing for Munster, supposedly, he's been on their radar since POC was targeted by Toulon.
Re: Munster 2014/2015
Surely Munster *can't* be in the market for a TH also? That would be taking the piss slightly!
Re: Munster 2014/2015
rather they took a NIQ than try and take either Moore/Furlong.wixfjord wrote:Surely Munster *can't* be in the market for a TH also? That would be taking the piss slightly!
Ideally Cronin and Archer would be enough.

As already stated, by December munster will be down to 4 Niq players, 2 of those will be project players. So not much of an ask to be allowed sign another Niq, especially as it was the irfu who allowed Poc to break his contract.wixfjord wrote:Surely Munster *can't* be in the market for a TH also? Munster not doing too bad with the Chisolm signing:munster#1 wrote:As already stated, by December munster will be down to 4 Niq players, 2 of those will be project players. PO€ = 1 season contract, possibly miss half season due to international duty.
Chislom = 2 season contract, no international duty.
Winners all 'round, possible only victim being PO€'s ligindary status as the € proves more important than the red jersey.

Great signing for Munster
Leadership qualities a bonus to hard running and physicality. Decent lineout operator as well and his test rugby try scoring rate (6 in 58 tests) puts some international class wings to shame.
Ryan, Foley and Chisholm looks a decent second row MD23 selection. Billy Holland and DOC x 2 add depth with DOC2 needing an injury free season to push on.
Hopefully we have another Langford and not another Pusey or Douglas

I wouldn't expect that it will take too long for a second row to bed in. It a lot different to a loose forward or a back.olaf the fat wrote:Tidy business alright. Hopefully for you he settles in quicker than Douglas did for us.All Blacks nil wrote:Great signing for Munster

A big plus is that he has been abroad for a few seasons so home sickness should not be an issue.

More good news for Munster (from IT)
Irish internationals Robin Copeland (shoulder), Dave Foley (wrist) and Mike Sherry (shoulder) have all reported back fully fit for Foley’s squad, while Kiwi back Bleyendaal will make his debut at Thomond Park on Friday after recovering from the neck injury that postponed the start of his Munster career, having been signed over a year ago
“We’ll hopefully see Gerhardt on Friday night and Mike (Sherry) I’m probably going to look at a game further on. Just with the length of time he’s been out; I want to keep him in pre-season an extra week or two and we’ll definitely see him in pre-season.”
