In response to the recent developments concerning Wasps investing in the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, Worcester Warriors can confirm that the club is seeking clarification on a number of fronts from PRL and the RFU.

Most importantly, these concern how Wasps' fan engagement and community programmes will sit alongside the significant investment we have made in our current academy programmes in the area without conflict.

Most importantly, these concern how Wasps' fan engagement and community programmes will sit alongside the significant investment we have made in our current academy programmes in the area without conflict.

I don't have as much sympathy with the other clubs that drink the PRL Kool-aid as I do with the long time supporters and the lower level community clubs in the area.

It does make the point that a decision like this has consequences - intended or not.

Would not be suprised to see the Wasps Rugby franchise being sold off in the next few years, as Richardson seems to have used it for a bigger prize.

Cry me a river. The members of said clubs sold out to private owners in return for the chance to win a bit of silverware. More recently, those same supporters would happily have seen the Irish (and Welsh and Scottish) provinces wither and die if they thought they could get a few of our players and keep up with the French.

Perhaps they're finally coming to realise that many of these shysters don't care about the game, the club, the supporters, comradeship or any of that jazz. They care about their money and their egos.

You reap what you sow. It's a bit late to run to the RFU when you told them to shut up, pay up and mind their own business years ago.

I must be stupid but how is this going to make money for Richardson? He will get 3-5000 fans into the stadium for around 15 matches a year? How will that cover the mortgage?
Is it a property play? Is it the future capital for corporate hospitality?
