Hard to imagine that they still have semi finals ahead and it's the middle of June. I just can't feign interest. I've mentally switched off the domestic 2015/2016 season.

Semi-finals now confirmed.

Clermont vs Racing
Toulon vs Montpellier

I have to say I didn't even know this competition was still going on. Its mad. The rest of the world is playing International tests and these clowns are still trying to work out who is in the semi-final of their domestic competitions.

No wonder the French international team is shite.

Sending half cocked teams on summer tours not going to help their ranking either

As posted elsewhere, France have a two-match series in Argentinar which, if they lose and Fiji bear Georgia, could see France fall outside Top 10 in World Rankingd. They would not be happy with that but, on the other hand, they would be a nasty shock as a third ranked team in RWC2019

The season had a delayed start due to the RWC.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

Its between them and Scotland for bogey 3rd tier European team, their only current saving grace is a lot of teams are currently ranked above them so their slide May taper off

France are 8th, Scotland 9th, 0.04 ranking points between them. On plus side not a chance theyll fall out of top 12

You can consider than the French National Team is out for the 10 next years. There is not a lot of place for good french players in French Club teams, and no place at all for young french players.

Montpellier began his QF game with 3 french players yesterday. I don't remember how many french guys were playing in the 2013 and 2015 European final.

"best Championship in the world" lol

Not sure who tweeted it (Gavin Mortimer or Tier 2 Rugby or Murray Kinsella) but theres a chart of the % of minutes in the top 14 played by French players at each club

Montpellier were only 40%, Toulon not much better. A couple of other clubs were below 50%

Think Bordeaux topped it but most clubs were 60% or lower

Eg France seem a lot shorter on front rows which always used to be a position of strength

I think you're talking about that.

(Toulouse 66%), and for the semi finalists
ASM 62% Racing 59%
Toulon 40% Montpellier 32%

It's a fake. And you know where's the scam here?
The time played by french international players during the six months that french players spent with France this season (World Cup+6 Nations...) is NOT counted here.

So, this table counts the time in clubs of all french players who're not international! Such a big deal!

That's called propaganda, or disinformation. Or whatever bullshit.

Good point, the table should be adjusted to take into account player time at club.

I disagree; if foreign players are playing instead of the espoirs then that is still stifling development of French players and feeding into the issue of residency qualified players too

In pro12 for the most part its younger domestic players who get a chance during international windows

It's not a fake, it is a fact. It is the true situation in French Top14.
The teams with the more french international players are the same that let young french players play a little bit during the RWC or the VI Nations: mainly Toulouse, ASM, Stade Français.
Just have a look on next semi final game this week end. It will be worse.

That's not a problem for clubs, that's a big one for the National Team.

They all need to because their first are away.

Non internationals can play more games.
