The defence is poor, outside defender constantly biting in. L Marshall getting his customary howlers in.cormac wrote:Ulster lucky to be only 10-3 down against the Ospreys approaching half-time
and now they're 17-3 down. abysmal stuff

Not too much for Ulster to take from that - awful. Stockdale looked good though

Still don't think so. Huge natural abilities of pace and physique but plays for himself. Should have offlaoded twice on that break where Piutau put him away and Ulster would have been back in the game. Took try well but it didn'tinvolve any interaction with team mates.brenno wrote:Not too much for Ulster to take from that - awful. Stockdale looked good though
Overall Ulster were very poor and look de-motivated and badly coached. It would be great to get them at knock-out stage but no chance now. Their Season is over.

I know what you mean RTB but he's incredibly dangerous on the ball and seems to have a real appetite to make the difference. There's things to iron out and he needs to find his position but the talent is definitely there. I had some of your concerns at 20's level but have generally been really impressed with him this season. Playing in a poor team too, the new coaches next year could improve those flaws, as could a trip to the US and Japan.

Wouldn't have formed that opinion about him myself. When Piutau kicked ahead late on Stockdale passed to him when it was maybe on for him to have a cut himselfRuckedtobits wrote:Still don't think so. Certainly hope so because that combination of size and pace is ideal. Agree that a trip on Summer Tour with Coaches and players who will work to improve him and give him some home truths about teamwork would be useful.LeRouxIsPHat wrote:I know what you mean RTB but he's incredibly dangerous on the ball and seems to have a real appetite to make the difference. His defensive systems won Ireland the 6 Nations and he has an incredibly intelligent rugby brain. Was it Kiss that was the problem interpersonally or the likes of Clarke and Doak? - Both of whom are leaving......rooster wrote:He could start by shouting that Kiss needs to go as he is useless and unworkable with as a boss.simonokeeffe wrote:Gibbes has a lot of shouting to do

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

We shall see but I fear Kiss is as big a problem as the rest.Flash Gordon wrote:His defensive systems won Ireland the 6 Nations and he has an incredibly intelligent rugby brain. Thought prop was an injury hotspot for you guys too. Academy seems choc full of props
Cant remember who said it here but idea of dumping the ordinary senior props and taking a chance on younger ones with a higher ceiling seems like a good one

Yip we have some good young props in the academy and also sub academy plus a couple in the underage setups with Ulster and Ireland.simonokeeffe wrote:Hmmmmrooster wrote:Yip we are dropping squad size for next season for some reason that may or may not become clearsimonokeeffe wrote:Is Ricky Lutton leaving too?

There are also a few potent 10's but the scrum half situation is a a year or so behind with one with promise still in school.
