Has a whiff of agents flying kites. I'll wait until it's confirmed before congratulating him; blaming the IRFU and slagging off other players.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
England A 8 - 14 Ireland A, 25th Jan 2014

Why? Has it been corroborated in the French media?

If it's kite flying then it's going to hit the Examiner's reputation.

How much would Simon Lewis care?

A source close to the player confirmed yesterday the deal was ‘75% done’ and the Ballincollig native is set to move across the water in the summer.
It's basically the same article, but there's a bit more on Ryan and his Irish caps.

Have you looked at the date on that Padser? It's 14 months old.

Which is my point. This has happened before. Could have been clearer, I didn't mean the content is the same, I meant that it's a squad update leading with a transfer rumour. Same Journo.

Agreed a deal. Signed and all that. It's a bit different to a "75%" deal.

It's a pity for Ireland if true but you can't criticise the player in my opinion: he has struggled to establish himself at Munster and then in the Irish setup and it really is not a stretch to say he hasn't been valued as highly as he might have been elsewhere. If Ireland weren't offering him a central contract and at the length he felt he needed he should move.

Best of luck to him. He's been a part of some great Irish games.

No, it says "inked". Would have been much easier and clearer to just say signed.

Later it says
News of Ryan’s potential exit comes days after another Munster lock signalled his exit from the province, Dave Foley announcing on Tuesday he was moving to Pau.
Which to me sounds like "75%" deal.

munster#1 wrote:Interesting discussion about who has the best backline.

For me Munster have the best back 3, with 2 of the 3 being first choice for Ireland, and the other being either of Conway or Sweetnam, who are both really good players.

I would also be of the opinion that Munster have the best half back pairing. Imo Tyler, although not the finished article, is probably the second best out half in Ireland, and Murray is so far ahead of the other scrum half in the country. As a pairing they have worked brilliantly together, with both players playing great rugby, both offensively and defensively.

Center, although not world class, have worked really good as a pair, with Taute scoring a fairly good number of tries in the big games.
Saying that, Leinster have the Irish starting center partnership.
I would definitely go with Payne, Piutau and Trimble (Gilroy/Stockdale in his absence) over Munster back three. I also wouldn't say that Murray is so far ahead of Pienaar.

Hope he stays. Good for Munster. Good for Ireland and ultimately good for Leinster too.

Unfortunately, I have not imbibed the Ruby grape of Proserpine this evening!

The apathy and ignorance of the IRFU have left me tired and emotional all on their own.
