Chris Ashton is still a seriously impressive player. It has struck me several times over the last seven or eight years that if he just slid in and scored rather than doing that galling 'Ash Splash' thing, most Northern Hemisphere rugby fans would go "Ashton? Amazing try scorer, savage winger!" rather than "Ashton? Bellend."
.
Absolutely agree and he always come across well in interviews and seems to be friends with a lot of opposition players after game too.

I think Conway was still carrying his injury too which makes it even more impressive. His hit on Tuisova early on was excellent too. Thought Tuisova had messed up but actually it was just great defence.
I was impressed by him in the 2011 final - even the game was lost and a lot of his team were looking for the showers he kept trying

It was a mixture of Munster getting lucky and Toulon messing up.

Munster doing well to get to the semi but a final looks unlikely unless they play a lot better.

Munster should have beaten Racing away in the group stages.
Clerment are vulnerable.
Munster should and will believe that they can beat either.

Conway's try is getting a lot of praise, but Murray's try is the world class one. The way he processed what had happened, recognised the opportunity and took it, all in a split second is the kind of thing that maybe - maybe - only one or two guys in world rugby today could have done. It wasn't spectacular but it was an astonishing bit of rugby played by a player who has gone to another level again this season

^^^ This. They'd be a bang average team without him, he's some player.

I don't feel sorry for Toulon whatsoever. They were the dominant team, had a messy set back with the Murray try but should have known that they were the better set of players (not team), and got back on track and put it to bed. Instead they carried on like a petulant bunch on brats, got on the wrong side of the officials and got on each others backs.

Rule 3.6 of the EPCR Champions Cup regulations:
"3.6 Each club involved in the knockout stage may register up to three further players. If a club registers three further players, one such player must be a front row player. Such registrations must be submitted by 12 noon (GMT) on 15 March 2018. The players in question must not have played for another club in the tournament."

Rule 6.5 from the Pro14 competition regulations.
"6.5 No player is eligible to play for a Team in the Guinness PRO14 if he transfers or is registered after the 19 March 2018 during the relevant season (although there is an exception for under 18 players in certain circumstances)"

Pretty sure he can't play in the H Cup, reading the above Pro 14 rule - not sure he can play in the league, unless there is an exemption for medical jokers?

I think the Pro 14 ruling refers to players transferring between Pro 14 clubs. So presumably he can play for Munster in the Pro 14 but not the Euro Cup?

Munster game currently on Sky Sports Mix. They've been totally outplayed in the opening half hour. Doing well to be only 14-0 behind.

Munster finally get some decent possession and territory and look to be over for a try but it's called back for a knock-on in the scrum by Copeland.

Cheetahs give them the ball back for a scrum five in the next phase.

Hart goes off for a HIA and Murray scores a try off the base of the scrum with his first touch.

This game is going to cost Munster.
Match at altitude the weekend before their ERC S/F is poor scheduling.
Theyll need all the recovery time they can get.
Luckily for them Racing having a game on Sunday in the Top14 isn't very clever scheduling either.

Have to say, given the squad available, tge injuries this season and the bollix Erasmus. Their fighting at the business end of both comps is impressive.

To cut down travelling time and give more time for recovery it may make sense to base themselves in the South of France instead of coming home and flying out again as is the case with some of the Southern Hemisphere teams in Super rugby

Big shift from POM tonight. Got two warnings from the ref about mouthing, put in 3 carries for 3 metres run and also 1 tackle.

BIG.
