Any team that asks Beirne to put on 10kg when he’s in this form doesn’t deserve him. Munster aren’t stupid, they wouldn’t do that.

I'd wager that it'd be better for "Team Ireland" if Murray was playing for Leinster. Make him an even better player in a better higher-skilled training environment, playing with his international team mates. We could send them MPG in return. Kill two birds with the one stone.
RPG would be handy for killing birds, if a bit excessive.
I agree, Murray is being wasted at Munster, he's just not being challenged enough and being on a losing side in all major games is eroding his confidence. If he was at Leinster it would be so much better for Ireland.

When DOC moved to England he was asked to bulk up. Holland isnt huge either.

Munster have much more recent history of moderate sized locks than, say, we do. We've had plenty of bigger than average locks.

Kleyn’s a huge unit though, and Holland is notably small for lock.

Munster have never really looked for a good footballer at lock like big Mal for example. They’ve traditionally been about the big hits and manic aggression.

Not since 2008 has big hits and manic aggression alone been enough.

Wouldnt worry about that. He's coming with a gilt reputation and walking onto the Irish squad.

If he hits 3 rucks a match, makes 1 steal, 2 good carries and 4 tackles they'll be giving him MOTM awards

He's a savage player in unbelievable form. They're not mad.

He will be such an addition to them next year, given that they really lost the breakdown against Racing (rather than their outhalf being to blame) with him and Cloete on board next year I think they really have the tools to go the distance.

Those 2 good carries would want to be at least 500mm each

Jeremy Loughman will remain with Munster for next season after signing a one-year contract extension.

Tadgh Beirne has played 2,300 plus minutes of rugby this season. On that basis he's almost certainly about 7-8kg lighter than when he finished pre-season. If any comment has been made about his weight, which I doubt, it might have been no more than "go and relax and put back the lbs you lost".

Absolute disgrace. This guy is potentially the most talented all-round player we've ever produced. I could handle a year-long loan, but presumably Munster wouldn't accept that. They already have three out-halves, or two if Bleyendaal is forced to retire. And their fans don't want him. From now on we should stop producing players in positions where we already have depth if this is what our financial and time investment leads to.

Quicker fix to add some red to the Leinster Academy. Scratch that, rebrand it altogether: Leinster Rugby Academy t/a The Irish Rugby Academy
