In addition to being inept in almost every aspect of the game, the players lack any intensity or commitment whatsoever and team spirits look really poor. I'm curious what the perception is from neutrals?

Realistically if we are to improve we need new unit coaches at least, a few Fardy/Lowe tier NIQs, and a couple of Leinster's elite prospects. Not that I want you guys to lose home-grown players, but our academy is not producing at the moment and our representation in Ireland underage teams is extremely low.
ad least they'd be no "Lunster" claims - I doubt the contact equivalent of that phrase wouldn't really catch on

Kieran Keane blamed some of the players in post match interview, thats risky to do as often and as early as he has

I hope he’s much better at communicating with his players than he is in interviews. Jackman seemed to get a reaction from his bizarre interview after the Leinster game so who knows.

The players clearly aren’t performing, but there are clear instances of poor coaching, like conceding crossing penalties from first phase attacks. I’m curious to know how much of an influence Keane has on the back line, it’s a shambles. I don’t particularly rate Carolan, he has a very similar philosophy to MOC and we all saw how that turned out.

It's being proven time and time again that the unstructured game doesn't work at Irish Provinces. If this the route that Carolan and Keane are going down then Connacht are screwed. I think Carolan would be an excellent skills coach but as a backs coach I'm not so sure. I hope Connacht can turn it around but I'd put the chances at 50/50.

Don't think we needed to play a less structured game, we just needed a less predictable structure.

Let's not forget the westies, they have their own QF v Gloucester on the Sat. Euro has kept Connacht's season alive this year.
They really have been the forgotten team this year. Our impressive form, Ulster with all their issues, and Munster with all their drug cheating problems, have hogged all the limelight.

Connacht only sitting 1 point behind Cardiff in Conference A for the last automatic Champions Cup spot for 18/19. In addition, there is a playoff for the 7th and final Pro 14 slot, between the 2 highest placed sides from Conferences A and B who have not qualified for the cup (currently 4th in B Edinburgh v 5th in A Connacht).

In addition there is the Challenge Cup gives them another shot of qualifying for 18/19. Plenty to still play for! Will be on the road in SF at Newcastle/Brive if they beat Gloucester.

The 20th place in the Champions Cup will be determined as follows:

i) Champions Cup winner, if not already qualified
ii) Challenge Cup winner, if not already qualified
iii) Challenge Cup losing finalist, if not already qualified
iv) Play-off match between the losing Challenge Cup semi-finalists, if not already qualified
v) Highest ranked non-qualified club by virtue of league position from the same league as the Champions Cup winner

Andre Deegan the aussie out-half is heading back to the Southern Hemisphere to sign with Western Force. Can't say he'll be missed but it's another NIQ off Connachts Squad.
