I'm telling ye. Edinburgh could be the team next season.
Or maybe Cardiff.

I'm not disagreeing with that. I find it hard to believe they will sell out every game.

No change to the conferences for 18/19.

Q: Will it be the same format as last season or will you re-jig the conferences?
A: It will be the same two conferences, with teams playing the other sides in their section home and away and then teams from the other conference either home or away.
The one change is we will reverse the cross-conference fixtures.

Interesting to note that the boss man suggests 16 is the number of teams which would work for the league best in terms of reducing the number of games played, especially during the AI/6N windows.

At a guess in a Pro 16: 4 sections of 4: Irish, Welsh, South African and Scottish/Italian. Play H&A v sides in your own section to keep derbies and play the other 12 sides split Home and Away - 18 game season. Playoffs could be winner of each section then next 4 best sides in terms of points. Euro spots could be the section winners + next best 3 sides in terms of points.

Last comment concerned professionalism of referees. I always assumed the refs were paid but perhaps not all were or perhaps not so much. Any increase in professionalism and standards of officiating has to be welcomed.

So... The good news.

1/ Only one match away in South Africa. V the kings.

2/ 11 home games and 10 away.

3/ Cheetahs, Glasgow and Ospreys at home and Cardiff and Zebre away.

4/ We won the fucken ting last season with none of these advantages.

Probably no point playing the thing so - just give it to us in August and we can concentrate on Europe.

Ah where's the fun in that? We have to do a double double because the following season is WC. and we spent the last WC season with our form in the WC

Discourages players from going off for HIAs, encourages early tactical subs because of rolling back on.

Impact prop starts for 25 mins, rolls off. Comes back on for 20 mins. Other prop does 15 and 20 mins either side of half time.

They'll really struggle adapting to European competition if their props are only conditioned for short bursts of play

I don't like this, the blue card makes a lot of sense but the 12 subs is bizarre.
Am I alone in thinking that consensus was been formed around less substitutes, promoting more athletic players requiring greater stamina?

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

Henry Pyrgos heading East to Edinburgh. Glasgow replacing him with Nick Frisby who is an Aussie International.
