Any club with any kind of brain should have been biting a hand or two off to sign Lancaster.
Given your undoubted rugby knowledge, I'm quite prepared to admit I may have misunderstood your meaning btw.
Genius moves look obvious in retrospect. We were in trouble when Kurt had to leave after the start of the season.
We needed someone fast. Lancaster came in a huge rush, straight off the plane to training/meeting. He'd been available for pretty much a full year before we bit. Every pro club in Europe (above D2) and the SH could have signed him.
Same as any club could have had Beirne for peanuts.

If Lancaster was available it was a no brainer.
Asking him if he was available was the genius bit.
That's available to Leinster, just to be clear.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

Lancaster couldn't find a job. Him and his wife were talking about downsizing their house and him returning to teaching if he didn't get a coaching gig sharpish.
Dougie Howlett (who is now Commercial Director for Munster Rugby and High Performance Lead for the Cork Hurlers) is returning to New Zealand according to the ST
Don't think there's any chance he's coming back. So the only interesting thing is how he talks about his move. Joey "loves it" down there, as he says so often. All fine..
I just hope he doesn't turn into a mouthy lip, thrash talking Leinster to win affection like Niall Ronan and Andrew Conway. I don't think any former Munster players at Leinster do that and I would seriously doubt the Leinster Branch would want them saying that sort of cr@p in the media. I have my reservations about Munster. Carbery is gone and probably forever.
I HATE seeing Carbery in a red shirt. I hate the way it was done and the impact it had on us. However, there is nothing in that piece in my view. He is positive about his new team and to the best of my knowledge has been nothing but respectful about Leinster. If anyone wants to raise the respect conversation witth regard to Joey and Leinster, J10's antics would likely come to the fore and not in a good way.
I hope Munster take this chance and put in a CEO with serious business acumen. The amateur guys are retiring now so now is the time for new blood to come in from outside and not another blazer from within.
