Can definitely see Te'o making it. He's basically a less intelligent Jonathan Davies but with a much better step and probably even more powerful physically.

Albeit only offloads Teo more likely to pass
When he spreads his legs like that youd need dynamite or the Highland Light Infantry to shift him.

Ian McKinley named in Italian squad. Great achievement.

Came across the name of one of our almost silent stars of the past flicking through Midi Olympique yesterday. Chris Whittaker is the Asst. Coach of Montauban who finished third in the ProD2 and thus qualify for les barrages.

Oyonnaz finished top and are promoted. Agen finished 2nd and get a home semi-final against 5th placed Biarritz, while Montauban have Mont-de-Marsan at home in the other semi.

Whitts gets high praise with his head coach, Pierre Phillippe Lafond, for the job they have done in Montauban and certainly getting a home semi in this league is no soft touch with traditional big Clubs like Perpignan, Colombiers and Jeremy Davidson led Aurillac all missing out.

So another graduate makes his mark, although it should be noted that Whitts has taken the scenic route since leaving Oz.

Had almost forgotten that one of the most trophy-winning success stories is a Leinster player of old - and not that old.

Heinke van der Merwe, LHP extraordinaire, gentleman and legend. Two Heineken Cups, one European Challenge Cup, one Top 14 Brennus and one Pro 12 trophy. No certilege in one knee, almost never injured and least penalised Prop in Top 14 over past three Seasons.

Capped by the Boks in 2009, just turned 32 and weighting in a couple of pounds under 18St. Rated by no less than Leo as one of the best props every to scrummage behind.

Congrats Heinke on Stade's success tonight and on another top class performance.

Heinke is a Leinster legend, if only for his cameo in that SF against Toulouse in the Aviva. Won us a critical pen at a critical time to put us in the lead.

Heinke only 32! Jeez, he was one to keep in the Irish system. Great player for us- and obviously every team he played for. Delighted for him.

Mike McCarthy will take over as coach of Bucaneers next season. Always good to see ex-pros staying involved and giving back.
