I know, but the NPC doesn't exist anymore. Provincial competition now is split into the ITM Cup Premiership division, the ITM Cup Championship division, and the Heartland Championship. The first two divisions are fully pro, and the Heartland Championship is semi-pro, or so says wikipedia anyway

It would appear that I'm slightly behind as well cos it's now the Mitre 10 Cup rather than the ITM Cup, and apparently it's still colloquially known as the NPC

Oliver Jager and Harrison Brewer played against each other in the Mitre 10 today for Canterbury and Manawatu, alongside players like Luke Whitelock, Ben Volavola, Richie Mo'unga and Johnny McNicholl.

Manawatu won 19-13 which was a big upset considering Canterbury were averaging 50+ points a game, Manawatu lost 2 of their 3 opening games and Canterbury beat them 57-17 last year.

Joe Schmidt used to play for Manawatu. He might knock back a sly glass of wine at that one.

Rumours on the Connacht boards about Ben Marshall maybe having to retire. This is one rumour I'd believe, that guy never had any luck with injuries.

Brennie Macken subs on for Wasps in 67th min and adds a try on 80th min. Marty named on the bench but was replaced before kick-off. Quins had all the possesion at 68% but Wasps had 7 tries and 47 pts, they are playing like the Eurostar at the moment!

From that article - "Waitokia made a big 60m run and was just dragged down by Thames Valley fullback Moss Doran"
Surely with a name like that he should be playing for munster!

Obviously having a good season. He played 60 mins the following week against Newcastle in the AW Cup:
http://www.saracens.com/news-article/sa ... -welsh-win and then came off the bench for Jim Hamilton in the Aviva Premiership last weekend (AJ McGinty plaing for Sale).
I think Flanagan was in the Championship last year so obviously got a step up at end of last season. Fair play. He was alays very talented and never put a foot wrong for Leinster. Tough business this pro game but it loooks like he will stick at it. Maybe we will see him back in blue.
