Re: Ex-Leinster players
Saw Ciaran Potts playing Tag in Marys on Monday. He can still move a bit. Very unlucky guy. Injured just as he was getting regular game time and never recovered.
Anyone remember the match he picked up his injury?

Think it was away to Glasgow in the HC in 05/06. He actually scored a try in the match and he's been on a good run of form but he shipped an knee injury and was never seen at senior level again AFAIK.El Diablo wrote:Saw Ciaran Potts playing Tag in Marys on Monday. Johny Hepworth still plodding along for Leeds Carnegie. PLayed last Friday in the Sportsground against Connacht. and John Lyne getting a chance for Connacht. He must be under severe pressure this year to produce the goods. He is only 26 but he has had a full contract for quite a few seasons and hasn't nailed down a place yet. Anyone see how he played?

Bradley made a load of substitutions, changed a load of players at once so don;t pay any attention to that. However, he was apparently trying some ridiculous "floating back three" system by all accounts.simonno6 wrote:i know fionn carr carries a little bit of extra weight but are they trying to convert him into a hooker! he came on late in the game for adrian flavin!

I always rated Tigger Lyne. Hope he gets a second lease of life in Connacht. As for Lard-arse Hepworth, the less said the better.El Diablo wrote:Johny Hepworth still plodding along for Leeds Carnegie. Good to see Hearty back after what I believe was a very bad injury. Anyone know how he did?El Diablo wrote: Connacht: D Riordan; F Carr, J Hearty, A Wynne, M Roberts; A Dunne, K Campbell;R Loughney, A Flavin (C), B McGovern; A Browne, A Farley; M McCarthy, R Ofisa,C Rigney.

Bradley was quoted as saying "he's one for the future".jezzer wrote:Where's Keatley?jrc wrote:Good to see Hearty back after what I believe was a very bad injury. So Keatley moves west to get game time and the coach apparantly wants to leave him in development. He could get "development" in Leinster. But we all know about Bradley's innate conservatism.
I actually had a dream the other night that Bradley had suddenly quit. I remember feeling so happy for Connacht fans...
Re: Ex-Leinster players
I vaguely recollect seeing Keatley being named amongst the replacements for that match. Disappointed/surprised to see he didn't get any game time. Ridiculous if he's not being given a shot down there. Andy Dunne is a likeable, honest pro but Keatley is the one with the potential. Not giving him 20mins in a pre-season friendly when he's an A international is a joke. No sign of Sean Cronin either.
Re: Ex-Leinster players
Carr didnt see a whole lot of ball and shipped a pretty nasty tackle as well, he came back on later so I'd say he was fine.
Keatley was not named in the replacements, neither was cronin. hearty wasnt great but to be fair it was his first match in ages. Dunne had a very good first half, we didnt see much out of lyne unfortunately apart from one super catch, where he managed an unbelievable face plant. (it was super stuff )

Re: Ex-Leinster players
Keatley has been playing sevens up until recently so, I presume he hasn't had enough pre season so far and/or rested...
